It means exactly that. It's found in nature. It isn't produced with synthetic colors, flavors, etc, etc.

that's easy to say but high fructose corn syrup is included in some "all natural" items (7UP was one) .... I wouldn't consider HFCS "all natural" but then again, it's really just processed corn syrup, right? And corn is natural, right??

My point: without knowing the MANUFACTURER'S definition of "all natural" or "free range" then how can you know what you're getting?

Does free range mean they're not shot up with antibiotics? The name "free range" sort of implies they're not, but are you REALLY sure??

There are pretty strict standards imposed by the FDA on nomenclature of foods with regards to "free range" "all natural" "organic" etc.

Actually, there are laws about it. "All Natural" has no legal standing behind it. Anything can be labeled "All Natural." However, "100% USDA Organic" and "Free Range Organic" are terms that actually mean something, legally.

Those ideals are the ones you agree with?
I didn't realize that they were that nutso. I retract my statement.

In a libertarian society, you'd still be able to know because there would be independent organizations that would be able to rate organic foods, even better than the FDA. So, I'd rather prefer it that way, but I'll take what I can get.

How would the independant organization make money?

Sure, a thousand years ago. 100 years ago people were still eating organic foods and lived into their 60s and 70s.

The Japanese still eat mostly organic and natural foods, and have the highest average life expectancies in the world.

Surely genetics is part of it, but if they were so dangerous and bad for you then the fact that they eat all that natural stuff would surely cut down their life expectancy.

Because of the state of medical care. not eating organic food.
Thats like saying we didn't have the Beatles 200 years ago and people only lived to 40 years old. That must mean that the beatles caused people to live longer.

We have also made huge advances in what we know about the human body and how it works. We have made huge advances in the treatment of disease and the prevention of disease.

Through various ways. Corporations could pay them. Or they can run off donations. Or any other method.

There are already organizations that do this today. Not with the FDA / organic market, but with other markets (like automobile repair, computer repair, etc). There are certifications and such that people can get.

Exactly.

I firmly believe that if we combined the excellent medical services that we have now, with a much more natural, organic diet, we would live quite a bit longer, and have a lot less disease.
