There is an undercurrent of concern that some evangelicals, unhappy that the GOP-led Congress and President Bush haven't paid more attention to gay marriage and other "values" issues, may stay home on Election Day or even vote Democratic.

| Is this a strong/widespread tendancy/view? How will the evangelicals react come 08, ..., will they break from the GOP or will they seek even greater influence over the choice of candidate? If they split does this mean an atuomatic Dem victory? Or will the evangelicals themselves split on the issue of future strategy, as some of Rons earlier reports suggest? Either way the fact that I'm going to be beholden to the results of all this pisses me off more than somewhat & I'm not alone in feeling this way, ..., but then again there very little that can be done about it I suppose | ||||

| I can't imagine that because they are unhappy with Bush that they would vote Democratic, whom they know won't do anything they want. That just doesn't make sense. | ||||

| I think Democrats do have some values that Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus would care about, like acceptance, tolerance, yadda yadda yadda It's just a different type of Christian I think than the typical evangelical-want-to-control-everyones-life Christian that typically votes Republican. | ||||
