| McCain ad asks if Obama is ready to help families AP - Republican candidate John McCain has a new TV ad that questions whether his rival, Barack Obama, is ready to help American families. The ad released Wednesday plays off a theme that the McCain campaign has been pushing ever since Obama's tour of Europe that Obama is a worldwide celebrity but not a leader ready to be president. In the ad, an announcer poses the question, "Is the biggest celebrity in the world ready to help your family?" The ad goes on to criticize Obama as promoting higher taxes and more government spending, both leading to fewer jobs. The ad touts McCain on energy, jobs and the economy as a whole. McCain just released an ad on Tuesday that seeks to distance him from unpopular President Bush. ___ On the Net: McCain ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v_3DxDBH9nn4 McCain campaign: http://www.johnmccain.com/ Obama campaign: http://www.barackobama.com/index.php source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080806/ap_on_el_pr/mccain [link] | ||||
