McCain to address situation in Georgia

Politico - McCain aides say that upon the senator's arrival in Des Moines, Iowa, this morning, he will address the deepening crisis in the*Caucasus region.*

According to local news accounts, Georgian troops have attacked the capital of South Ossetia, a pro-Russian breakaway part of the country. The Russians have sent*their own troops*into the region, as well as planes that have come under attack from*Georgian forces.

McCain has been an outspoken critic of the Putin-dominated Kremlin, urging that*Russia be removed from the G-8.*
