If you throw out the drag nets and publish every piece of garbage that floats into your nets, you will eventually get something big... while at the same time publishing THOUSANDS of shitty false stories and bits of celebrity gossip. They should not be commended for this.

2006? are you kidding? then why were you "visiting" her again at 2AM in a hotel? I know MY wife wouldn't by that BS. poor lady, having to deal with the cancer twice, and now having to put up with Edwards and his helmet-hair for the sake of their family (and also his public image).

The National Enquirer IS A SERIOUS NEWSPAPER NOW. It hasn't printed ridiculous stories about UFOs, monsters, or anything else like that in 30 YEARS.

People like you think it's on par with World Weekly News. It's not.

They were right about this story a year before any other news agency was. They are right with the vast majority of their stories. (Although I agree that many of their stories are celebrity gossip, most still are true).

I posted ONE story from the enquirer, not thousands. One story that (to me) seemed plausible based on the person, his actions, and what felt like it was most likely true. Ignoring (again) that the enquirer didn't print the stories, I didn't believe batboy, cheney is a robot, etc, for those same reasons.

In other words, you're trying to make the enquirer the issue when really it's about Edwards being a piece of shit fuckface hypocrite. It's going to get even more interesting when someone asks him to actually show up for a paternity test and he refuses. Mark my words, it will happen.

They will never be a serious paper. All the drooling morons who pass by the magazine rack at the checkout counter of the local grocery store can believe whatever they want....as they put thier frosted flakes and ho-ho's up on the conveyer belt and comment on Brangelina's big fight, or spy photos of Cameron Diaz's cellulite. It doesn't bother me. But I will never accept the NE as a reliable and legitimate news source.

Is it? I rather thought that it was a calculated decision based on the known trustworthiness of the source.

If you want to break it down to a sort of programming decision... I assign a trustworthiness rating to every source of inforamtion. I may not do it conciously, but we all do this. I assign the NE a very very low trustworthyness rating. So low infact that I ignore it totally untill some other source can confirm the data. This is not ignorance, rather it is an informed decision made based upon past experience. The unreliable source will occasionaly publish a true story, but that does not change the fact that they are not trustworthy.

but since you got the trustworthiness of the source wrong, that means you're making determinations off wrong information.

earlier you accused me of only believing the edwards story because I have a bias against him. now I'm saying that you only didn't believe it because of your bias against NE. it's a tabloid but it doesn't make shit up like you've been saying.

You're wrong. The things it prints are factual. The few times they get a story wrong, they retract it just like any other newspaper.

Just because they focus on more retarded subject matter than most Americans care about doesn't mean that what they print is wrong or false.

There's no way to know whether or not Brangelina actually did have a fight about Spaghettios, so claiming that they've "cleaned up their act" and "report facts" is laughable to me.
