Like Lou has pointed out, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Just because they get a few things right every now and again doesn't mean they're credible journalists that should be taken seriously.

They're celebrity gossip trash mags 99% of the time, so, treating them like they're celebrity gossip trash mags is the proper way to respond to someone using them as a source.

I'm sure Alex Jones and Prison Planet have been right about a thing or two, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be met with extreme skepticism when someone uses them as a source... right?

I don't think any of the television news stations could be accurately described as the epitome of journalism..

That said, their mission is still mostly about reporting actual news, and their credibility is still far beyond the Enquirer.

Jones actually talks about things that are not true and draws conclusions from various sources that don't exist.

As I pointed out, no one really knows if random_celebrity35 had a fight with random_celebrity05 about juicy_tidbit17.. so this idea that they have some incredibly high accuracy rate on the stories they report is not based in anything

So, sure, they're going to be right every now and again. But because of the nature of their work, you can't take them seriously just as you wouldn't other less than credible outlets, ie: World Net Daily, Prison Planet, and what have you

I'm sorry...but a LEGITIMATE news agency...LEGITIMATE reporters don't report rumors (Which Edwards having an affair was) they are supposed to report FACTS...FACTS verified via PROOF or EVIDENCE of some sort. I have yet to see anything in the Enquirer's "reporting" that shows they had a shred of evidence (other than word of mouth from a paid source). That's why the Enquirer is not a legitimate source and that's why no major news outlets ran with the story.
