While there is good information available, many kids simply don't know to look for it.. because they don't have the experience or knowledge to know that they even really need to look for it. If they do know to look for it, there's a real risk that on their own, they wont get quality, or complete information on the subject.. something I feel is important. We have sex education in our schools, yet conservatives -- Bush and his ilk -- have made every effort to ensure that there is a great lack of information provided to students on std's, how to properly use a condom, how to ensure they're as effective as possible, the risks of sex, pregnancy, yadda yadda.. and replace it with quasi-religious abstinence bullshit. Notice I didn't say supplement. I said replace. They don't want anything but abstience taught, which is why it's "abstinence only education".. I'm not suggesting passing the buck, I'm blaming the current Government for its shitty, quasi-religious programs, and the failures of such programs to provide reliable and useful information. | ||||
