Yesterday, while speaking to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) attempted to steal credit for the GI Bill that he actively opposed. Fox News’s Carl Cameron gave McCain’s efforts a major boost last night, declaring that McCain successfully changed the GI Bill — to create “a more ...

| Fox and McCain team up to steal credit for GI Bill he opposed
Yet again we see :fox: bias at play, trying to give McCain another talking point for his campaign with revisionist history and wishful thinking. It's despicable and I hope this story gets some play on other networks. The more people who are able to free themselves from the misinformation put out there by the Fox network the better for the country.. people need to have good information to make smart choices about election, and support for the Armed Services is one of the issues that people put a lot of weight in. McCain shouldn't be allowed to lie about his past opposition to this bill with the help of a major "news" network. Once again though, more proof that Fox is anything but "fair and balanced" .. it's decidedly tilted, by design, to support and promote a pro-Republican agenda. | ||||

| In all fairness there is a lot of misinformation out there fox doesn't hold the patent but they are pretty bad. We are getting killed with data, I think the only way to wade through this mess is to break it down to its simplist form - what do the candidates believe for certain core issues: the wars we are, the economy (how and to what degree it should be managed), terrorism, China and Russia. I think right there you would get a reading of what kind of leader he will be. All this other shit are distractions

| I don't think I'd call this a distraction, really. He's trying to take credit for something he vigorously opposed. That speaks to his character. | ||||

| whoever wrote the article didn't understand McCain's idea about the potential problem with the new GI bill. It is certainly going to be a problem that the military will have to address in the next 10-20 years, however I don't believe that veteran's benefits is the place to begin dealing with it. | ||||
