Mujahideen Shura Council Release Video showing the Burning of 2 US Soldiers
Terrorist Group Mujahideen Shura Council released a video titled In Member of the Sunnah of Our Ancestors in Mutilating the Infidels. The video shows two US soldiers being mutilaed by the insurgency group in Iraq. According to Mujahideen Shura Council, the two soldiers, Pfc. Thomas L T, 25, and Pfc. Kristian M, 23,were part of the brigade that raped and burned Abeer Qassim al-Janabi, and killed her family in al-Mahmoudiya back in June 2006. They were also the same soldiers that were shown in a video that was released on July 10th 2006 with their bodies already mutilated. This video contains more footage of them being tied to a truck and then dragged for a few minutes before then being set on fire and burned.

They appear to be dead from the start

Maybe this is a perspective to view how torture and lack of respect for international agreements on how to treat oppposing forces can lead to situations where opposing armies like China, North Korea, Iran, etc would do the same thing, and how upset that will make us all...something to think about

Yup, that's really too bad. I feel for their families.

I won't watch the video because I've decided to be done with that since seeing the videos of the heads being cut off. I don't want to fill my mind with that stuff.

Really sucks to have stuff like this happen to troops.. especially when they're so young. 23 and 25...

I do think it reiterates why we need to maintain strict standards for how we treat enemies that we have in our custody -- whether alive or dead.

We should always strive to be better than our enemies..

I'm pretty sure we have never mutilated some body's, tied them behind cars, dragged them through the streets and set them on fire all while filming it so we can show it off.

I'd say we win in that department.

I never suggested we did. I'm saying, we shouldn't even start down the road to get to a place like that by trying to justify torture or anything else.

I force myself to watch these things. I think it's not healthy to become detached to how truely savage the enemy is, and also how horrible war can be. I think there's a huge danger of people falling into an antiseptic view of war.

Besides, I figure if other people really have to live through these things, it seems unfair that I should have the luxury of ignoring them entirely...if you're going to support wars, how can you refuse to, at minimum, watch the results? I don't even support what we're doing in Iraq, but given my country has caused a lot of what's going on there, I feel it's my obligation to see the results, no matter how disturbing.

If it was a video of an Arab having his upper body blown off by 50 cal round...would effect would that have...do you shun those videos as well?

War messes with people's minds for a reason, and I think seeing this kind of stuff is the main cause. Unless I'm at war, I'm not going to fill my mind with it. I don't have to see it to know it happens, or to know it's a reality. I'm not becoming detached. Just like I don't need to do cocaine to know it's bad for me.

It's not healthy for anyone to see things like that. I watched one of those decapitation vids and saw a vid of one of our soldiers getting drug around last year, that was enough. I'm not filling my head with that shit anymore.
