I dig Thelonious Monk, but not all his stuff is laid back (some of it's more up beat).

Ambient (Jazz) - The "Jazz" may or may not be there

Not Ambient Techno. Sometimes it'll say just "Ambient" and it could be either... plus it might not be piano, could be sax or something like that.

Ambient usually isn't jazz from what I've found.. certainly not with pianos.

You're either not listening to the correct kind of ambient, or you just haven't heard ambient piano

Personally, I like ambient techno, but don't much care for other ambient music. I like real jazz, and that stuff can often be real laid back, and I like classical, but ambient is a bit too cheesy for my taste.
