Hey guys, McCain obviously can't do more than one thing at once...so he's the best man for the job.

Well, first its the debate, then it's the election.

I'm sure McCain would be Ok with that.....

Correct me if I'm wrong but Obama and McCain are still getting paid to be senators right? You know, actually do something as elected officials?

Ever hear the phrase "too many hands in the cookie jar"?

You know what I think would fuzz up this bailout? If the Presidential Candidates go to DC and try to use it to make themselves look Presidential. Especially when they haven't been part of any type of solution thus far.

They have a committee working on this already, and it's bipartisan.

What a bag of dicks. This is just another attempt to score political points. It has nothing to do with actually trying to fix a problem.

Letterman mocks McCain cancellation

Per Drudge, some brutal late night shots at McCain, who canceled on Letterman tonight:
David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy.

Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?"

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his Metamucil."

"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second-string quarterback, Sarah Palin. Where is she?"

"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

And the debate would take an hour or two of their time on a Friday night up. Are you saying that during that time the economy situation can be fixed?

As long as we rank, file, and blindly accept, yes. It will.

HAHAHA now Palin won't go to her debate either unless they find a "fix" for the financial problems by friday? I hope they don't show up and look like asses while Obama and Biden are able to use the "debate" to educate the public about their REAL stances.

I love how McCain's group is trying to use this as a political stunt when, in reality its just screwing him self over. THere is the rest of the senate there .... Oh, and The Commision for Presidential Debates told McCain to shove it. Its been planned for well over a year and a half, he ccan't just change it 2 days before it is supposed to go down. I also just read a report where people in Missisippi, where the debate is to be held, that there are McCain supporters who are going to vote for Obama because of this. hahahaha.

again McCain shows why he is a leader.

and Obama is just a politician.

They should both focusing on finding the best solution to our current problem, rather than running around the battleground states.

yep....... Chris Dodd already has this wrapped up with most of the conditions that people want ..its just a matter of getting the Bush admin on board.

I am also very skeptical on how urgent this really is.

Why wasn't McCain suspending his campaign last week after the corporate bailouts? Or after the Bush admin tossed their proposal to the dogs and said "eat"?

If he's such a leader, why did the senate tell both candidates that they didn't need to come back to the senate, they could remain campaigning? Why, with all of McCain's economic expertise, wasn't he immediately recalled? Or is this just a metonymy for him returning to his job after the election is over?

have you heard your boss say this while the company is making the most important decision in several years? They are the leaders of their party, they should control the cookie jar, not Harry Reid.

so why did both McCain and Obama take President's Bush invitation to join a bipartisan group about this

Chris Dodd hasn't been fired yet? He and Barney Frank are an embarrassment to the Democratic party

Does this company have a legal document allotting powers to a legislative body?

Didn't think so...
