According to a Dallas police report obtained by News 8, Dallas Cowboys star receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide Tuesday night.

The report says Owens was depressed and reportedly took prescription pain pills. A woman companion states that she observed him putting two pills in his mouth.

According to the police narrative, the woman said the prescription of 40 pills was filled on September 18 and—until Tuesday—Owens had taken only five pills.

The police report said Owens was asked if he had taken the rest of the prescription; Owens said, "Yes."

According to the report, police also asked if he was trying to harm himself. Owens answered, "Yes."

Owens was treated at Baylor University Medical Center.

A Dallas Cowboys spokesman told News 8 the team has no comment on the police report, nor is any news conference scheduled.

Fucked up thing is I'm almost certain what will happen next:

He will not be cleared to play for a couple of months, and when he is cleared he will cite depression and not play for another month or two... Which means Jerry Jones is paying him the equivalent of a $3,000/hr hourly wage to do jack shit.

this really deserves to be moved to the speakeasy

however, i have noted, as an Eagles fan, outloud, that I hoped he got testicular cancer for xmass

however, Eagles fans are a vicious people and never to be trusted

I wonder if this is accurate, I watched three stories on it thismorning that said he just had an allergic reaction to some medicine he was on.

i think theres a line and it just got crossed

not that its particularly damaging...i just wanted to know if theres a precedent on what is "real" news and what is "things that have happened that won't be featured on newsweek but all over the tabloids or ESPN magazine"

I hope Jones was smart enough to include a clause to that effect, but Jones has done some stupid stuff.

My friend just called and told me about this. They apparently released him from the hospital, which they wouldn't do if it were a suicide attempt.

they also said there was no criminal aspect to this... if he did actually try to kill himself, they would bring charges for wreckless endagerment on himself.

not if its determined to be clinical depression.........which they think it might be, and which owens said so.
