Americans were tortured by the Nazi's. I just went to the Mighty 8th museum in Savannah a month ago and they had a whole display dedicated to it with interviews from some of the Americans who lived through it.

Each post you make on this subject seems to contain information that makes less and less sense, and really seems to be grasping for straws in order to create some moral equivelency that simply doesn't exist, sorry.

No one is "giving up the freedoms of our soldiers", they're still entitled to the full protections of the law in this nation. That is, unless they're declared enemy combatants under this horrible, constitution-slashing, bill of rights nullifying law that the GOP and Republican Congress pushed through.. which might not be so unlikely.

I mean, if you're not with us, you're against us. Right? So if a soldier refuses to serve in this civil war clusterfuck of a campaign in Iraq, they're obviously not "with us", ie, with Bush and his failed policies.. so they must be against us, hate America, want us to lose, and be giving physical support to the terrorists by refusing to carry out their military duty.

Thus, they're an enemy combatant. Makes perfect sense! Time to sodomize them (which is now legal) and see whether or not they're actually connected to any terrorists without ever proving that they're guilty of a crime while holding them indefinitely. Hooray America! We have our own rape rooms

What Murtha did was wrong, but it did not remove anyones rights any more than any journalist or opinion/analyst on a news show does when they discuss a case before the trial is finished. This bill is completely different. And it's obvious.
