I laugh at the idea of a war on an emotion.

You can't even really have a war against terrorists - only against another state.

It should be more like "police actions" and "military operations".

Bush just wants it to be a war so he can invoke "it times of war balh blah give me more power"

True story

320 billion would have bought some really cool spy stuff. And we might have come a little closer to actually fighting this WOT. As far as that whole Bush blah blah power thing..... I cant argue that one..

While i agree thaqt this bill is a travesty, it's not right to blame one party for it. The democrats obviously support it as well since it takes a majority vote to pass such bills.

Which now has me totally convinced that the dems that voted for this thing are spinless and I am truly digusted with them. They were afraid of the spin the Republicans would put on their vote and they didnt have the courage or the foresight to plan damage control.

Also if the Democrats were truly interested in stopping this god-awful bill, they could've done a few things, such as a fillibuster.

Or voted no, called a press conference, take a stand on the steps of the Capitol and expose the bill and why they voted against it. Did a single Democrat need to vote for it for the bill to pass? There focus was on November and not on the citizens of this country.

It's in the best interest of the government gaining more power with less oversight.

Nothing in the bill has any proven value to the US as a nation.

Terrorists are not a "special" type of criminal.

We already have laws against terrrorism and don't need any more. Those are the laws that should be used, not make war on American citizens.

Democrats as a whole don't support this bill. They just fucked up by agreeing to Cloture (Thanks Harry Reid ), and a few of them in tight races with Republicans voted for it

Those decisions have caused me to not donate any cash to campaigns, and I know it's generated outrage on a lot of blogs who were really beginning to be excited about being involved in this election cycle.

This bill isn't good for the nation. It kills what this nation was supposed to be about before its passage. Those who support this bill hate the principles that America was founded on. Those who pushed for it simply want more unchecked power in the hands of an incompetent President and his blundering Administration.

The problem I really have is outstanding need. There is no real evidence to indicate these powers are needed. It's primarily a power grab "father knows best" style.

And none of them probably read it.

So this is how liberty ends... with thunderous applause.
