Pelosi: Obama should govern from the middle (CNN) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday called on President-elect Barack Obama to govern from the middle, as her party sat poised to gain its widest House majority in 15 years. According to projections, Democrats in the House were on track Wednesday ...

| Pelosi says Obama should "govern from the middle"
[link] I thought that was pretty interesting coming from Nancy Pelosi.

| I don't believe anything Pelosi says. She has no clue what the "middle" is. Except for that signal of change crap. Why is it then whenever a poitician is elected they assume it's because the people liked them and not because the people didn't like the other guy. There is a difference and I think that politicians need to recognize that. | ||||

| What Pelosi says publicly and what she says/does privately are two different things. She's all for show. | ||||

| Well, I don't mean to glean over Pelosi, but rather show how even she is telling Obama to govern from the center. Which is interesting to me, because I thought he was supposed to have promised "change". | ||||

| She's not telling Obama to govern from the center. If she wanted to tell Obama that she would have told him directly. She's telling the media she wants Obama to govern from the center. There's a clear difference. What she's pulling for in private is a separate issue with her. We've seen this with her time and time again telling the media one thing, but then threatening her own party to not speak out against certain political ideologies. She's all for show, just like her "most open, most ethical congress in history" pledge. She's a far left radical who wants to take America far from center and that is what she actively works for while smiling to cameras claiming to be a bi-partisan. She's a fake, don't be fooled. | ||||

| I don't fully understand your post. But Pelosi and bipartisanship ship don't belong in the same sentence. Remember, just last month she turned off the lights, shut down congress and ended energy debate a time when we were paying $3.50 a gallon and energy was the #1 issue in America because she wanted to wait until after Obama was elected president so she wouldn't have to negotiate with Republicans or fear a veto and pass whatever she wanted. She is not bipartisan. Sure this is a change from the way it was, but Pelosi gaining more power is not a change for the better. | ||||

| Ok, so Pelosi sucks ass, but what about those RFO's and the others calling for Obama to govern centistically? Is centrism going to bring about change in this country? | ||||

| According to a lot of people that believe Bush's adminstration was of a neo-conservative nature, yes. | ||||

Considering the basic nationalization policy of Bush, and the bipartisan approval in Congress...that's where the middle looks to be, what 20 years ago would have been called socialism I don't think he'll try and push for any gun laws...gay marriage...tripling welfare...rephrasing the pledge...but besides that, the American People are with him and with progressive ideas that are now mainstream | ||||
