Retired Canadian Major General Lewis Mackenzie was interviewed on CBC radio, and had some very interesting news about the UN observer post hit by Israeli shells; the Canadian peacekeeper killed there had previously emailed Mackenzie telling him that Hizballah was using their post as cover

We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it.

We have a family friend who was in the IDF and did things in Lebanon she "cannot talk about" with other IDF soldiers she "cannot talk about". She said Israeli intelligence damn near knows where every manhole cover is in Beirut. The IAF isn't just lobbing bombs lazily like the fringe left likes to say they are.

If they know so much, why are they blowing up ambulances and UN bunkers? If they know so much...HOW are they NOT killing terrorists?

I seem to remember you saying in another thread that if someone kidnapped your child, you'd go after everyone that person loved, cared about, etc.. and would have no problem hurting them even if they were innocent and didn't have anything to do with that.

Is it ok for you to feel that way, and feel morally justified in doing so, but not for these people?

When things like this happen over and over and over again, you surely can't expect a different result from them in terms of support and sympathy for Hezbollah who is actively fighting those who have done this to them.. when their actions are the same you said you would take if it were done to you.

That really depends how you look at it. I'm sure they feel all actions they take are retaliatory in nature as well.
