I don't know what they think, maybe they think its ok because conservatives christians care more about winning seats than the Bible
Maybe, but probably not. You know what they think; you just don't seem to realize they don't talk about every issue that ever comes up.

They certainly haven't spoken out against Foley's actions, maybe they condone them because he kept the seat Republican. After all the most powerful figure in the Religious Right of the 1990s, Ralph Reed, was involved with bribery cases with Jack Abramoff...maybe its all a scam?
Yeah, that's probably it.

Yes there is a big difference, the Christian Coalition did not have a relationship with Bill Clinton, if he does bad..."let he without sin cast the first stone"...since they broke that precedent they should go after any major politician who breaks their moral code...if they don't go after Foley, maybe being a child predator doesn't break their moral code?

If one of the key leadership members of the GOP Congress they help elect does this...then its their obligation to inform their members and their organizations about the situation and deal with it.

Make no mistake:
There were Christian conservatives and their organizations doing hard work for many years (and this one) to keep Mark Foley, a child predator, elected.

What is their answer? Silence

I'm not really sure what you expect here...
I actually have to agree with thorgrim on this one...those sites should at least have a blurb condemning the behavior. I've been monitoring them the last couple of days because my family basically follows those sites with religious ferver (pun intended)

Not so much as a word...I have a feeling that if it were a democrat in trouble they'd be all over the fact that the left is degrading family values in America.

Funny how these guys have no contact or ties to any christian groups once they do something like this.

It's the old "no real Scotsman" thing.

I am pissed about this.

There is no proof that the Religious Right is directly connected with Foley. However, they should still be blasting him and the other Republicans that tried to cover this up for the simple fact that they are supposed to be about upholding morals within government.

If Sean Hannity bitches today about keeping Republican seats and such, I may just drive my car straight into a tree on the way home today.

It's funny my grandmother was up visiting this weekend and she is from Florida and she lives in his district. I guess she writes him alot to discuss her feelings on various issues. She was very concerned about this whole thing.

Keep us updated!

BTW I don't think you can come up with "direct" connections with the vast majority of Republican Congressman...except really outlandish people like DeLay (who resigned so nevermind) but everyone knows that there were hard-core CC in FL's 16th in 2004...2002...etc working hard for Foley...he's the Deputy Whip you don't get that position by pissing off your base

Not only that, but Foley is a senior member of the GOP House Leadership...something the Christian Right pushes for hard and often, they supply GOTV efforts, influence church members to vote, etc
Yeah "deep catholic" all the way down to the altar-boy fucking, I am certain that whole preist/child molestation thing goes much deeper than people would know. After the priests get caught -- they don't get repremanded they just get shipped to another town where they can continue to molest children

And Foley said his most memorable moment in life was "Meeting the Pope in person" -- no wonder it was so high up in his life, boytouchers anonymous loves the catholic head-honcho, he's soft on peadophiles!

Homosexuality and Blackmail in the Government Ranks; by a devout member of the Christian Right speaks on her views and experiences with the upper levels of the United States Government. She was a NATO Employee for decades in Norfolk, VA. The largest military base on the face of the planet.

Kay Griggs Talks: Desperate Wives (Blackmail In US Government 2 of 2) - Google Video

Kay Griggs, wife of colonel George Griggs, USMC (retired USMC Commandant): 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps, found her husband's diary, which contains details of homosexual blackmail in the top ranks of the US Marine Corps and names leading politicians and military leaders. Kay Griggs's information about the US government also comes from observations and people she met. She exposes psychological-homosexual initiation rituals, sex and people as currency, the raping of young men, disbehavoir and gang-rapes/crimes/theft of Navy SEALS and blackmail and murders to keep people quiet. She names figures like Henry (Heinz Kissenger a full homosexual, subject to "The German Disease", peadophelia and homosexuality within the ranks) Kissinger and a string of other top government individuals. This is part 2 of 2 of the full interview.

I agree with you. What about those Family Values? You would think if ANY politician Dem or Rep they would say something to the effect of how that behavior is inappropriate.

It's great. Selective moral outrage. It's only immoral if it helps them politically, apparently!

If they were true to their principles, they'd be all over this in spite of the fact that they'd previously supported him -- they couldn't know about this, and in spite of the fact that he's a Republican.

These are the same people who come out and complain about every damn thing on television that might offend someone who's too lazy and irresponsible to change the channel or pay attention to what their children are watching.. I'm sure they came out and condemned Clinton, and yadda yadda..

But here we have a Republican Congressman sexually soliciting an underage male from his position of power over the boy(s), and silence?
Thorgrim is right, their silence speaks volumes.
