I did have economics classes at the University level. I have also studied Austrian economics extensively.

The whole idea behind the reputation system is for people to self moderate by promoting good posters and demoting bad ones through reputation, if it annoys you to get negative rep, don't post crap and you wont get it.

There's nothing childish about it.

Or it may be that they just promote those that are like minded and demote those that are not.

All the other negative responses I received were from people who had opposing views as mine. And what do you know, none of them have given me any positive rep, except for you and one other, but only after I had given him positive rep in the first place.

As to positive rep, most that I have received came from like minded individuals.

I do not give out negative rep, because I may disagree with someone else's point of view, but that does not make it bad. So, it seems to me that giving out negative rep is childish.

For example, the negative rep you gave me was because implied someone had not had any economics classes. From the person's response, it appears I was correct. But there was no need for him to get bent out of shape about it. Obviously, you do not have to have had any economics classes to have read books about it. And if you have not studied it, then you are just spouting nonsense.
