Do you guys listen to any music other than popular stuff?

I was listening to NPR last week and I heard something that really suprised me. It was a piece on this composer by the name of Eric Whitacre. He has an album out called "Cloudburst". It's all choral arrangements set to various poems and such. I must say that I have never really been into this sort of music but I had to go out and buy the CD. The way he puts everything together and all of the harmonies.. it's just amazing. He has a website and you can actually hear some of his stuff there.

I like bluegrass gospel, techno, goth, and some big band music.

Basically I listen to what i like.

Bluegrass, jazz, light rock, electronica, metal, folk, alternative country, grunge rock, rock, cock rock, etc.

Basically I also listen to whatever I feel like. Local H is by far one of my favorites and definitely not popular.

i listen to mostly rock. alot of older punk and indy type bands. radiohead was my favorite band for a long time, but i have found my self not listening to them as much lately.

i like listening to mozart when im high

We have Hawaiian music playing a lot in the house. Dish Network actually has a Hawaiian music station so that is cool.

nah, radiohead is still a great band. just nothing new really in the last couple of years. my taste seems to alternate. ill get in moods where ill listen to nothinig but early 90's punk for a month, then shift to older hip-hop, etc.

im not really a big prog rock fan.

hawaiian music reminds me of "national lampoons christmas vacation", where clark is dreaming of his new pool, and cousin eddy is on the diving board in a wife beater and a beer

there is some funny song playing in the backround.

There's a lot of good Hawaiian music, and some shit too. Slack Key guitar is fucking amazing when you hear it. I was around it a lot when I was dating my wife. Her dad played a lot of it professionaly and I really enjoyed it. My wife danced professionally also so I was always going to her shows with her dad playing music. It gets in your blood when you are around people that live it.

im honestly not familiar with it at all, but its not everyday you meet a fan of hawaiian tunes.

classic rock mostly... which includes, but not limited to: The Beatles, The doors, rolling stones, steely dan, santana, jefferson airplane, i could go on and on...

as for new stuff, dave matthews band, john mayer...

that's about it, but i listen to about 99% classic rock

Oh, and living in the Greensboro area, we have 1 classic rock station and 1 rock station that plays some alternative and classic rock. I can get a Roanoke station that plays good music sometimes and there is a college station that is unpredictable.

That was a long way of saying the music selection locally here SUCKS!

So thank God for Sirius radio!!!!
