it's a morally corrupt smart business move. Those in a position such as walmart have a responsibility, not only to thier stock holders, but to thier fellow man as well.

Aren't most people in this country christian?

Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers
who harvested your fields are crying aloud;
and the cries of the harvesters
have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure;
you have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter.
You have condemned;
you have murdered the righteous one;
he offers you no resistance.

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which He hath given thee. (Deut. 16:17)

Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. (Deut. 15:11)

Not everyone needs it. I have paid quite a large sum of money for mine the last 3 years and have gone only for a yearly checkup.

The $5,000 I have paid falls short of the $300 I have used.

Now, do I need insurance? No. I am sure a large portion of people fall under this umberlla.

I don't see how it is corrupt. The gov't offers it, thus why should they?

I'm not sure what you mean. In what way would it be stealing if walmart were to offer all of thier employees medical benefits?

I'm not forcing anything on you. I am merely saying that I believe what walmart is doing is immoral and not something that should be celebrated as a model of good business.

if I'm a business owner you certainly are trying to force something on me. I'll go back to my original post

You aren't understanding me. I don't think we should force walmart to do anything. I don't think we should force them to provide health insurance or any other thing. That's not for me to do.
I can however disagree that what they are doing is OK. Some here seem to believe that a person can and should do whatever it is that generates the highest possible profit for them. If it hurts others along the way, then so be it. It is my opinion that with great wealth also comes a great responsiblity. They have the ability to do great things for humanity and they instead choose to hoard wealth to themselves. I think the way that they conduct business is wrong. It would make me happy if they decided to supply health insurance for all of thier employees. But I do not believe that anyone, not me and not my government, should step in and force them to do what I think is socially responsible.

I wasn't aware that our government supplied all of it's citizens with health care.. ? Or are you referring to the fact that people who need care and can't pay for it simply get it anyway and then don't pay and declare bankruptcy? AS if that might be the reason that walmart doesn't afford it's employees with health care.

Or how about the fact illegals skip out on paying for their health care and we get stuck with those bills?

it all adds on to our health care costs.

Yeah that is unfortunate that there are many people who can't afford health care on thier own illegals and American citizens alike. I'm not sure how it's relevant to my position though.

The real answer is the gov't has overregulated health care making it unaffordable to the lower classes.

Deregulate health care and anyone could afford it.
