What Walmart is doing is nothing short of corporate greed that in the long run effects all of us. This kind of practice allows a disproportionate amount of wealth to be gathered into one sector of our society. Walmart became a great and powerful corporation because this country stands and defends free enterprise and capitalism. Our whole system was established on a base of checks and balances. This should be no different. As a member of any one community across this country, Walmart has an obligation to contribute to that community and return the publics support by contributing in the best way possible,,,The livelihood of its employees. America is about the ability to get to the top, but once you have arrived there, you are not without obligation to pay America back. The attitude that only losers work at Walmart so, they are getting what they deserve, doesnt give Walmart a free pass to hurt the very society that gave it its great wealth.

| Why should any of us have to pay. With the huge profits Walmart enjoys, they cant take a hit and be responsible as an employer? I see no reason or justification that this company cant take care of its own. The only answer is sheer corporate greed. | ||||

| part of the game of maximizing profit, home depot employs a strategy of paying its workers more, thinking they will get better employees. walmart feels differently. I know that when I am in walmart, I will recieve crappy service from employees, because they are paid shit wages | ||||

For wallmart to be able offer little benefit and low wages they need to have people willing to accept those conditions. If people are prepared to accept those conditions, continue to shop at wallmart, and don't use the law to force change then wallmart will continue to offer said conditions.

That's fine if you don't have a problem with that gap, but the gap has consequences.

| I love buying cheap shit too, not because I like cheap shit, but because it is what I can afford. And with the kind of money Walmart is making from all of we "cheap shit lovers", they can easily afford to give back to society by offering decent enough compensation for its employees. Again, there is room within the profit margin, they wouldnt have to change a thing. They can still offer crappy service, and no need to open that 11ty billion question desk, we "cheap shit lovers" will still go there and buy our cheap shit. Again it is all about the disproportionate distribution of wealth, gained by we cheap shit lovers, and taking the low road that the free enterprise system allows them to take rather than the high road that gives back to the very system that allowed it to gain its wealth in the first place. | ||||

There were other retailers before walmart, there are still other options but we as Americans have decided this is what we want. I believe we should be able to get what we want. Why doesn't McDonalds give similar benefits to its employees?
