And it was deleted from his site, just not his database. The fact that people managed to hack his site or knew a workaround his Snoop content management system to get the file to display doesn't mean he didn't remove it and add a redirect.

I said it was an archived comment...what the hell else would you call it? is there some other two-word phrase I should use to describe the link? How the hell is that a lie?

It's not from his site. It's archived on another website... because it was removed from Daily Kos... see it was archived on other political websites because Kos deleted it from his site. He wasn't smart enough to take it out of his database, but he did remove it from his site.

So now if you go to Yahoo and search for it, you can't find it from Daily Kos, because it was removed. See, how that works. If I were to say something on my blog that I didn't want people to read, and I was an idiot, what I would do is delete the post from my CMS and add a redirect to my main page. If I was smart, I'd delete it from my database too, and not just unpublish it from my Scoop content management system.

Kos messed up, and other people were able to find it and archive it. And then others were even able to find a way to crack the Snoop unpublish Kos did and get his words straight from his own site. Pretty clever huh? So even though Kos removed the page from his website, added a redirect, and blocked web spiders from finding it... other people were able to archive it and their links to the backdoor of Kos were so popular that it actually brought it right back to the top of Google. It's amazing how that works. All these sites laughing at Kos making fun of him for deleting the page and since so many people did it, it got right back up to the top of Google. I find it quite ironic and humorous.

That Kos, he sure isn't too tech savvy.

No I said it's archived on another website and you need a backdoor to view it on his site.

Believe it or not, it's fairly well documented that Kos removed this article. And he retracted his statement after he lost his advertising because of it.

It's ok to admit the truth and not share his opinion on this issue. He's retracted it so he can continue to make money off his crap.

I find it completely unfathomable that Americans can say "fuck it" when our men are mutilated overseas. Whether they chose to go there or not, I can't believe the opinion that since they do it for a job it makes their lives somehow less valuable.

This entirely sums up the stereotypes of anti-American sentiments of today's Democrats and liberals. And when people say some of their views are anti-American they get defensive.

Crap it's not even archived on the Yahoo web directory? One of the largest search engines in the world? Holy cow. Just referral links from other sites??? It's interesting, the thread is 2 years old. Surely it's been spidered by now? It has caused so much controversy. Interesting Yahoo doesn't have a link for it... hmm. Coincidence perhaps. I mean, Kos never does anything like this. Surely this must be a clerical oversight. I'll try copy/pasting the text article into Yahoo to see if they have the page listed under perhaps another URL.

Dammit, it seems there's no way to search for this Kos story on a search engine that didn't gather the web link through third parties. Hmm, I guess Kos has been lying to us

Well since it is the same thing. YES.

And remember that many contractors arent gun welding mercs that will sell their soul for the almighty dollar. Most are doing security for govt officials/civilian organizations or helping fix the country.

The four in question were guarding food shipments, oh the horror. Guess they deserved to be beaten to death and their bodies mutilated.

The 7 other Blackwater employees that were killed were doing security for diplomats.

This is my last post in response to you in this thread.

First if you read my initial post to this debacle you're referring to it was about you saying when you did your google search the top hit was the backdoor link to DailyKos. Therefore, he wasn't trying to hide it or delete it.

I said, try a search engine like Yahoo which doesn't work off referral links the way Google does and it won't be there. Which it isn't.

Another domain hosting a similar page they stole from the database that they needed to recreate, doesn't mean the link to DailyKos is there.

In fact, it's not even in the Yahoo Directory. Which was my point. You clearly stated: It's there... it's just archived (I deleted a couple of our posts which I will not bring back for this stupid back and forth). The first page of Yahoo looks like a DailyKos archive, it even has the same page title. But it is not, it's not even the same domain and they don't share the same political agenda. It's a recreated page based off the Kos database because when the fiasco orginally went down there was no way to access it through Kos's site, which is what I said. Kos deleted the page and nobody knew how to gain access to it. It was the best they could do. You were arguing that Kos's page with the comments was there and not deleted for the duration of the entire thread. I've been arguing that it isn't and to prove my point I showed you that you can't find the comments anywhere on a search engine that doesn't work off page links from other domains, such as Google.

Picture if I deleted this thread from our forum. It's still in our database. Admins can still access it and do whatever. But the users can't see it. Imagine if vBulletin has a vulnerability that allowed people to use a different page link setup that allowed access to the page. That is what happened. And when someone tried to go to the direct link he put a page redirect to a non-related page (which has now later been set to the homepage). It was removed from the search engine on his site (at least for one year after the incident it was, and most likely still is). And he prevents search engines from knowing the page exists. As you've seen with the Yahoo search.
