I don't know the extent to which the Taliban has been gaining ground. What I do know is that anything that happens from now on is in the hands of NATO, not the US; which I like, because we need to end these battles at some point, and it's nice to finally see others in the world help out. What happens from here on out isn't under our control.
Sure, every once in a while we see a story about the Taliban 'retaking control' of Afghanistan, but are they really, or is this just some media sensationalism? If that's the reality, why hasn't it gotten more attention? Why aren't the Democrats jumping at the opportunity to prove that the US sucks under Republican leadership?
