YouTube needs a wakeup call

Hello fellow LLers. This is a call to all of you, both Republicans and Democrats, Libertarians, Greenies, Socialists, and Commies. If I missed anyone else, please forgive me. Consider yourself included.

There has been much debate lately (and naturally) about the response of the world Islamic extremism; some think we are bowing down out of fear, and others think it's no different than Christian extremists (the most extreme I can think of right now is Westboro Baptist Church, but I can't remember the last time they bombed someone). Nonetheless, we've seen examples from the Muslim world demanding apologies over and over again to calling for executions of the Pope, to the UK bending over backwards to accomodate Muslims.

I want you all now to take a moment and consider YouTube. We all know by now that the internet is becoming a haven for radical Islamic propaganda. YouTube has become a favorite for spreading their hate. In return we have people like Michelle Malkin at hotair.com countering their videos with peaceful vidoes of her own, on YouTube. And how does YouTube respond? Just watch.

Basically, YouTube yanks her videos and leaves the Jihadists videos on there. Why? Does that make any sense at all? All of us should be upset about this, all of us should be bothered by this, and all of us should do something about it.

I don't agree with YouTube pulling those videos while leaving those others up, but it is their service and the best course of action to protest would be not using it.

I think that's sort of the point of her video...why is she being censored?

I think part of her problem is that she is trying to use their medium to protest them.

Tactics like that won't usually get you far.
Go on OT and try protesting glen of tank and see how well it goes.

Right, I'm not getting into debates about trolls of whatever nature using or being prohibited from using youtube but

the link doesnt support the contention that the UK is 'bending over backwards to accomodate muslims'

also
yesterday Leading UK politican Jack Straw (former foreign secratary, friend of Condi etc) announced that he had for some time been asking veiled muslim women visiting his MP surgeries to lift their veil so that he could talk to them face to face. In deference to their concerns a female colleague would be present

IIUC this has occured 6 times over the last few years & on every occasion the women have aggreed to his request

This announcement as raised a storm in the press & amongst some muslim groups, ..., but he simply asks, which is fair enough.

His claims that the veil is increasing on 'separateness is IMO siully, ..., nearly all clothing is about that. Ask anybody in a 'death metal' t-shirt, suit, uniform, etc, Dress is about saying 'hey look i'm a politcian/punk rocker/shik/villa fan/ etc

right that enough of a brit aside, ..., which can only mean its time for the traditional habitual pointing out that b2w is a bit of a troll, ...., but only by referencing his post, (which is important as personal attacks are f*cking dull & frowned upon)

so as so oftenb2w takes the opportunity to characterise Muslims in an unfavourable light & to deride their concerns, ..., remember BUSH DOESNT WANT A WAR AGAINST ISLAM, WHILST THE JIHADISTS WISH TO CLAIM THAT THERE IS ONE.

Islam is a broad church/mosque etc

Try coming on here and protest glen and tank and see if it gets you further.

She's using the YouTube community against them. That's her best possible means at this point. And she's using her blog which is syndicated around the world.

There are too many instances where the UK has been bending over backwards to accomodate Muslims. The example I posted is an attempt to hire more Muslim police...for what purpose? So that only Muslims can arrest Muslims? Equal opportunity? Hasn't the US already shown how faulted affirmative action is?

You want more examples? How about the British prison systems remodeling their prisons so that Muslim prisoners don't have to urinate towards the sun (apparently against their religion)

Or how about making it illegal to have pigs seen anywhere in any offices in England, becuase it might 'offend some Mulsims who come into the offices'?

There are plenty more examples that you seem to forget, but certainly you know about them?

The attempts to paint me as a Muslim-hater is not becoming of you. I'm hardly trying to paint Muslims in a bad way; I'm merely saying our reaction out of fear of the threats is pathetic. There's no way we'd do such things for anybody else; why do it for Muslims?

I think if someone doesn't want to watch propaganda videos, they shouldn't watch them. However, if someplace like YouTube, or Ogrish, or whatever wants to host them.. then they should be allowed to.

I obviously don't agree with their content, but I think the company has a right to decide what type of content it allows on their servers. If someone disagrees with those policies they can not use the service

There's no doubt that YouTube is run by a bunch of rabid liberals. After posting on numerous political thread/clips which were obviously the typical liberal reactions, these threads would suddenly DISAPPEAR!! This happens all the time when I post there.

Do you actually have any proof of this, or because you disagree with a business practice you're going to assume -- and perhaps improperly label their political affiliation?
