So is the government and military. I don't see them reporting everything to us. If you want to site a specific law they broke, feel free.

they certainly do report everything back, save for classified information. But they do post their police blotter.

embezzlement of a million dollars and a cover up isn't a crime in your book?

If they wanted to press charges on said embezzlement? Sure. Did they? Where is that guy now? Pretty sure he was eventually let go. Pretty sure they set up repayment plan. That's completely up to them.

Lots of private organizations are funded largely by taxpayer dollars. Should we disband Boeing due the criminal activities of their employees in securing government contracts?

Whatever you say. You have yet to show any crimes committed other than the ONE person who embezzled money...who wasn't even charged because he left and had a repayment plan set up.

Let's say he was even taken to the police...they would have arrested him, DA would have charged him and the lawyers would have gotten together and cut a deal...probably along the lines of probation and restitution. (hmmm, looks familiar)

I have certainly showed more than one person being charged with a criminal act, you were looking for criminal activity at the very top of ACORN and I showed it in both the embezzler and his brother the CEO. If they can hide a million dollars for 8 years god only knows what else they are hiding.

ACORN, an activist group that turned in 90,000 completed voter registration forms in Clark County for last year's election, violated state law by setting mandatory quotas for workers who canvassed neighborhoods looking for people to register to vote, according to the state attorney general's office.

Canvassers were required to register at least 20 people a day, and could be fired if they didn't, officials said. ACORN also instituted a bonus program called "blackjack" or "21 plus" in which a worker could earn an extra $5 per shift by registering 21 or more people.

The problem with the quota system is it encouraged workers to turn in false registrations, said Secretary of State Ross Miller and Larry Lomax, Clark County's registrar of voters.

"This is individuals ripping off their bosses because they have quotas to make," Lomax said.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said ACORN's policy required "illegal acts in performing the job."

"These practices are clearly in violation of Nevada law," she said. "By structuring employment and compensation around a quota system, ACORN facilitated voter registration fraud in this state."

The criminal complaint lists 26 counts of compensation for registration of voters and another 13 counts of principal to the crime of registration of voters.

In October, state authorities raided the organization's offices and alleged that its canvassers falsified forms with bogus names, fake addresses or famous personalities.

They seized voter registration forms and computer databases to determine how many fake forms were submitted and identify employees who were responsible.

ACORN is a nonpartisan organization, but it was affiliated with a political action committee that endorsed then-candidate Barack Obama in the presidential election.

Officials insisted today that the fake voter registrations did not translate into fake voters making it to the polls.

"This is a case of voter registration fraud, not voter fraud," said Miller. "There is no evidence that there was any voter fraud in the last election."

Allegheny County DA Says 7 Charged In Ongoing Probe

PITTSBURGH -- Local workers for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now are charged with forging, illegally soliciting or illegally filling out voter registration cards in Allegheny County before the 2008 elections.

At a Thursday morning news conference, District Attorney Stephen Zappala announced the charges against Ashley Lucille Clarke, Alexis Givner, Mario Wyatt Grisom, Latasha Leann Kinney, Eric Lee Jones, Eric Eugene Jordan and Bryan Alexander Williams for allegedly filing hundreds of fraudulent voter registrations.

"You should consider, as I said before, this is the first stage of this investigation. It has been completed with the arrest of these seven people. You should consider the investigation is ongoing," Zappala said.

Forgery is a felony in Pennsylvania and voter application fraud is a misdemeanor, reported Channel 4 Action News' Bob Mayo, who was at the news conference.

Mayo reported that the matter of whether ACORN itself or any of the organization's leadership is involved in a crime has not yet been answered.

Zappala said no votes were fraudulently cast as a result of the alleged fraud. There were also no charges of any overarching conspiracy, Mayo reported.

There were charges related to a misdemeanor crime involving allegations concerning a quota system for canvassers that they would be paid for the number of signatures they would turn in.

The investigation, which began last year, involved Allegheny County police and the FBI.

ACORN has come under scrutiny for registration irregularities in other states.

Authorities in Nevada filed charges Monday against ACORN and two former employees on charges they illegally paid canvassers to sign up voters. ACORN denies the charges.

We're getting to the point where many people have been charged with felonies. There seems to be clear evidence by first hand accounts of ACORN employees that the organization promotes this type of behavior. The leader of ACORN embezzled something like a million dollars. They have crimes going across over a dozen states now I think.

Here is my question. Why haven't they been investigated and prosecuted under RICO laws? If they were not a political organization with such strong ties to the Democratic party I believe this would have happened already.

well our friends at ACORN has been busy in the news the last few days, two of their offices have been taped giving tax and other advice to people they believed where a pimp and a prostitute looking to bring in underage kids to work for them and just today the Census Bureau announced that they were cutting all ties with Acorn:

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud.

"We do not come to this decision lightly," Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.

In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count.

"It is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts," Groves wrote.

Stephen Buckner, a census spokesman, confirmed the letter, but declined additional comment.

ACORN spokesman Scott Levenson did not immediately return a request for comment.
