Now the GOP has a gay 'problem'?

As I mentioned earlier that the Democrats are on a literal witch-hunt_ok, maybe gay-hunt_ with this list that's floating around Capitol Hill, in an attempt to out gay Republicans in an attempt to disenfranchise the Christian right from the party by 'scaring' them in some way. Well, it's only getting worse.

On the front page of msnbc.com, certainly liberal in my opinion, is this gem:

Viewpoint: The GOP's Gay Problem

Here's a snapshot in case someone decides it's inappropriate:

Wait a minute; aren't liberals the ones that embrace the gays? Aren't the Democrats supposed to be the ones with the 'problem'? Since when have liberals begun to turn their backs on gays? Oh, that's right, since they've decided it hurts the Republicans more to have the 'problem gays'

Apparently the network of Tucker Carlson, Joe Scarborough, Pat Buchanan, etc is "liberal", it must come as quite a shock to them

Ofcourse, he doesn't even get that Newsweek is a magazine that gives online links to MSNBC, and MSNBC actually had nothing to do with the article.

The title has more relevance than your comment.

The article made no mention of Democrats, a list, a gay hunt etc. The article made no mention of liberals turning their backs on gays. The article was about 1 gay man's experience of fear in the GOP while serving in the closet. Republicans are not gay tolerant.

The GOP's "Gay Problem" is that they might have some GAYS as members who are in the closet. That is their problem.

I think someone quoted it as 10% of GOP Congressmen are gay (some 20 members)

I wouldn't doubt it's higher, considering the spectrum for "gay" is kinda vague anyways. But, this party turned into a Religous Conservative Movement, and that isn't really who everyone in the party is or ever was. But, the Movement took over the party, and it moved it really far right. So now, if you are moderate, or don't go along with their agenda, you are their problem.

i dont think its the dems. i was watching real time last night, and the republican congress woman made it seem like foley was raping young children. she called his behavior sick, disgusting, shamefull, and a couple other things. not that i dont think the guy has problems, but he is hardly some sort of hardcore pedophile. just seems like a gay dude that has a thing for young boys.

im not so sure how its a whole lot different than the fuckin perverts on ot that droll over 16 yr old jailbait.

It's not different. It's only sick because he is a congressman and part of the GOP. That's why it's sick. It's sick because he doesn't "fit" the role of someone who would "do that". Some people have a fetish for the younger newly pubertized (is that a word?) people. Sometimes men, sometimes women, depending on the person. Or if you are open, sometimes you find beauty and sexuality in both simultaniously.

I would consider him far from pedophile.

And the thing is, is if I remember correctly from Biology, once a person goes through puberty, they are not a child. A girl who starts menstrating is a woman. A boy who goes through that change is a Man. That's not determined by a number, that's determined by Biology. So, I don't consider him a pedophile, he is attracted to young men. Just like the May-December relationships.

"Viewpoint: The GOP's Gay Problem" has nothing to do with liberals and them not accepting homosexuals.

Why are we blaming the Democrats for the actions of Republicans? They have dug their own graves with their "core family value" bullshit and then molesting boys.

Im not so sure about his statement as I think you are either gay or your not and there is nothing vague about it. However....
But, this party turned into a Religous Conservative Movement, and that isn't really who everyone in the party is or ever was. But, the Movement took over the party, and it moved it really far right. So now, if you are moderate, or don't go along with their agenda, you are their problem.

I do think this statement is right on. The Republican party prostituted itself to the Religious Conservative Movement and won many an election under the banner of "Family Values. Gay Republicans are either dilussional or complete hypocrits to align themselves with this party as they themselves must believe they are flawed. There is no question that they are completely contradictory to the base of the republican party as it stands today. Now it is up to the republicans, from the voters on up, to decide how to handle these members. I also think the republican gays have asked for any problems the GOP may throw their way.

So let me get this straight. The Democrats newest national plan is to expose republican homosexuals that don't want to be exposed? Isn't being a homosexual a private matter? I mean, why do people need to know who you would rather sleep with?

Wow, I'm impressed with the Democrats plan on helping America! This is a great start!!!!

However, what is being talked about is a well known homosexual rule, if you use your power to harm the power of homosexuals in general you can be morally outted (ex: A closested homosexual sponsors a bill to make homosexual sex illegal)

However, the conservative hopping between blaming gays and blaming the democrats has both failed, (the gay one never caught fire, the its been shown this scandal has been held by republicans, released by republicans, and built up by republicans, and covered up by republicans, etc...no democrats)

Actually, if you follow the links there is backup for what I said. This 'list' has become fairly well-known in the past few days.

Stylerod; yes, that's my assertion. They have a list of all the gay republicans they could out in an attempt to turn the Christian base away from the party. Follow the links; there are tons of others on google about this list.
