They should have thought about the right to defend their life, aka right to own weapons, before they robbed someone at gun point. As part of their punishment they had to serve X amount of days/years in jail and forfieted that right.

In a general sense I think all of the rights are equal in value. Punishment for felony armed robbery will involve losing general freedom serving 3 years in prison, followed by losing the right to own a weapon ever again, for life. I don't see why they would not be able to vote again after they serve their time, especially since their crime did not involve anything with elections, voting, or the democratic process.

Yeah, that attitude sure helps reform people and make them productive members of society.

If they are still a danger, keep them in jail. All rights should be restored once you serve your time.

If you can't trust someone to legally own a gun, what makes you think they won't use one illegally

We already established that... my question was, "WHY?" not "hey, will you reword your position?"

Convicted felons are at the bottom of society and I prefer they stay that way
Why would you consider them at the bottom of society?

Yes and people still threats should be in jail in actual programs that help them, not this gay liberal shit.

Give people a vocation and make them productive members of society.

The line between misdemeanor and felony is actually very thin. Especially when it comes to drug charges.

I believe one of the biggest failures of our system, is that we do not rehabilitate the criminal, and set them up for success when they come out. Instead they get institutionalized and being in jail becomes all they know.

Clearly someone convicted of distribution of pot is a danger to his life and should be hung at high noon.

I didn't say that they shouldn't recieve vocational training but I don't believe they should own a gun or vote

And why is that? Because you "fear" them?

Again as I have said 20x, anyone that is a threat should be jailed until they are no longer a threat.

How can you be threatened by someone who isn't a threat

How is somoene convicted of tax evasion a danger to you?
