Do you people actually listen to what you are saying?

I fail to see a comparison. The death penalty, abortion, and gun rights are not the same as being accepted as WHO you are. I can be for gun control yet still understand Democrats who are against it; on the other hand, if the official Democratic platform was that all white males were inferior and not entitled to equal rights as others, I would be a hypocrite for supporting them, as they are not against a single 'issue', they are against who I am as an individual (how I was born).

It is moronic to compare gay rights to issues like gun control or abortion.

Hey! How about you compare it to civil rights too!

Those involved in politics should expect almost anything to be used agasint them. The majority of them would use most weapons they have.

It's the nature of the job, the most successful politicans are those that can mainpulate others more effectively.

That said, being gay or not has nothing to do with having to support gay rights. One can like fast food even if they are a health professional.

It's human nature to be contradictory, one set of rules for you, and one set for everyone else. Everyone is hypocritcal when it suits them to be.

Politicans want power, and being gay does not change that

Why is it moronic? Those are platforms the Democratic party stand for, just as being against gay marriage is something the GOP stands for. That's it. The GOP doesn't hate gays, they just don't support gay marriage. It's completely idiotic to say that gays cannot be Republicans. So damn stupid.

Nope. Most Republicans aren't even supportive of civil unions!

So if I am gay, the Republicans refuse to even allow me to be recognized as in a union with someone.

And don't even get me started on the many rights granted to married people that aren't even given to people in civil unions.

Being a Republican doesn't solely depend on their stance on civil unions or gay marriage. To assume so, would be ridiculous.

The republican party platfom has 271 talking points. You're saying that ONE is more important than the other 270?

And while you're thinking of your answer, remember, your answer is not necessarily everyone else's.

And gun control, abortion, and the Death penalty do not have a consensus in the Democratic party. Some people are more vocal about their opinions than others, certainly

Being against gay marriage is the consensus in the Republican party.

He had the following to get that passed in 2004 and chose to side with the Dems to shoot it down.

Hmm......maybe what we're seeing is someone making a choice that goes against his party? Maybe that's been the point all along?? That a person can support his party but disagree with some aspects of the platform???

Coming full circle, if a gay person supports the other 270 points of the platform he is not a hypocrite for being a republican just because he's gay.

I must have missed that logic class where all points were created equal and quantity always triumphs over quality

and I must have missed the part where YOU get to decide someone else's priorities and decide if he's hypocritical based on YOUR prejudices

I don't decide, the social groups he contracts to enter does

No one trailed this guy in a car and staked out his house until they photographed him having gay sex

He entered an open community and was strictly told the "rule" which is that someone can be outed if they are hurting the community

It was his decision to sign on to those rules...no he didn't sign anything, but verbal and implied agreements are just as valid, both in our legal history and philosophically

oh, so since you can't explain your position now you're going to justify it using someone else's? nice........ you said he's a hypocrite. I want to know why YOU think that, not why someone else thinks it.
