He absolutely was. Here is his quote.

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game," Letterman said, "during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

Only one daughter went to the Yankees game. The 14 year old. If he is going to talk about men having sex with her daughter, it might be a good idea to see which one was there.

He made a dumb shit comment and that is why she is in the news. Be pissed at him, not her. It's Letterman's fault.

Probably because Imus was making a racial slur, whereas Letterman was making a joke in reference to an adult (yes, Bristol is 18) who was used as a political meme by the Palin family.

There's a huge dichotomy between a racial slander and a joke about hypocrisy (pitching abstinence while being pregnant).

Did Letterman show a picture of the girl with Palin at the game? Or did he know that Palin only took a daughter to the game? Is there any evidence to support him knowing it was the 14 year old, and not the 18 year old?

It doesn't matter. He said what he said. He fucked up and he should apologize for it. Just like when I said something wrong at a football game a few weeks ago. I said something I shouldn't have, I man'd up and I apologized.

Since he isn't I'm going to say he's glad he said it and maybe he did know the 14 year old was there and doesn't care. That's pretty shitty.

Trying to blame Palin in all of this is just ignorant.

I have a feeling that if a democrat's daughters were the butt of such a joke, the people defending her here would be reversed. That is the hypocrisy that heavily exists in this forum.

Letterman screwed up. He could have meant Bristol, and most of the audience whom laughed would have been just as ignorant assuming it was Bristol. The fact is, the only person who went to the game was the 14 year old daughter. He was talking about her whether he knew it or not.

It is not unreasonable to demand an apology. He should acknowledge his mistake and apologize, which he may have done by now.

Do I care? Not really. I am very disappointed with the hypocrisy in this thread, however.

You know, again, I'm not so sure about this. Perhaps, yes, but the level of debat would probably be different. I could be wrong, of course, I don't really know how things went down back in the past online in these discourses and stuff, but Dennis Miller, who I thought was actually really funny, back when he had his own show, despite that I often disagreed with him, and even the so-called liberal-mainstream comics did poke quite a bit of fun at Chelsea, back in the day.

I think the conservative commentators really have gotten way too serious lately. Everything has become all doom and gloom to a lot of them, and its, well really kinda a turn off, disturbing even.

Of course, I don't really care about this Palin thing either, and can't see why its such a big deal. I think it makes the right look weak to be so sensitive over such a trivial thing as a dumb joke. I'm sure it will work great for Letterman though, big, big ratings. Maybe he should send Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity thank-you notes for being such douches.
