| They are burried in their Socialist Leanings. Republicans need more of their "Libertarian" leanings. They don't have National Socialist Workers Party leanings. If they did they would promice jobs and housing for all Germans. That is how they got elected to power. | ||||

| The "claims" aren't that they're unwilling to continue using religious based wedge issues for political gain, but rather that they're unwilling or incapable to follow through on any of those promises that are made. That doesn't discount any of it though.. Like was said inthe other thread about American style fascism, the consolidation of power in the executive is a big first step. Republicans have been all too willing to head down that road. | ||||

| Seems more like selective agreement whenever it happens to benefit the argument being made. What else do you agree with him on? I don't think we have a fascist Government, so in that respect, I agree with Chomsky. However, that doesn't mean that that there haven't been steps made torward that type of Government while the Republican party cheered. | ||||

| The consolidation of power in the executive has hardly been limited. Congress has essentially given up a large portion of it's authority to this President with resounding applause. Our government is complex and involved, but that's a completely irrelevent point.  | ||||
