By the way, in this case:
1. The fellow thug ganster police officers at his department stand behind him and say he followed protocol perfectly.
2. His supervisors stand behind officer.
3. The DA stands behind the officer.
Everyone up the chain probably supports the officer. After all, if the officer finds any drug money everyone benefits up the chain somehow.

The victim who was harassed by the officer is suing.

More dickhead police who don't know the law but love to assault the citizens that they work for.

This guy has a lot of balls. Arguing with a cop that has a gun pointed to you when you are carrying a firearm.

Apparently he did win $25,000 when suing the police department.

Just a question here. Taking what you know of the Martin/Zimmerman case...

If Zimmerman was a police officer (on duty or off), do you think your opinion of the case would change?

For me it wouldn't change. An unarmed teenager was shot and killed for what? Because he was walking in a neighborhood? Regardless of whether or not Martin was the attacker once they met...there was zero reason for him to be accosted/harassed in the first place.

I believe there was a thread in here where a guy would purposely go out while video taping with an assault rifle strapped to his back...begging the cops to stop him. I think there were a lot of people who thought the cops...as well as the public had no reason to harass him. Do you feel the same about Martin?

Personally, I'd feel about the same, however, am slightly more afraid of someone who takes matters into their own hands.

When there is no video or witnesses, we do tend to favor the cop's explanation of the events and move on.

This is a lot more complicated than it sounds. We don't know exactly what happened.

Police attack supreme court justice

Some heads will roll for this one. Normally such a complaint would disappear.

In this instance, Internal Affairs is reviewing the complaint because it was brought to its attention by the judge.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/06/ny...ck-him.html?hp

Thomas D. Raffaele, a 69-year-old justice of the New York State Supreme Court saw an incident involving officers. Things appeared to be getting out of control. Concerned the crowd was becoming unruly, he called 911 and reported that the officers needed help.

Little did he know.

Within minutes, he said, one of the two officers became enraged — and the judge became his target. The officer screamed and cursed at the onlookers, some of whom were complaining about what they said was his violent treatment of the suspect, and then he focused on Justice Raffaele, who was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The judge said the officer rushed forward and, using the upper edge of his hand, delivered a sharp blow to the judge’s throat that was like what he learned when he was trained in hand-to-hand combat in the Army.

The sergeant, he said, stepped away and spoke briefly with some other officers — several of whom the judge said had witnessed their colleague strike him — and returned to tell the judge that none of them knew whom he was talking about. As the sergeant spoke to the other officers, the judge said, the officer who hit him was walking away.

The cops then, of course, lie about the events.

Not trying to say this case is like others I have seen...but naked people on PCP seem to give the police a hard time on COPS and in other incidents.

I'm not sure what makes police this stupid (and people in Florida in general), but it does seem to be becoming the norm.

Police Taser Homeowner for Protecting Home From Neighbor's Housefire

The 42-year-old father of two recalls his wife waking him around 6 in the evening, saying there's a big fire at his neighbor's house. "I could hear it, I could feel it," he explained. He ran outside and grabbed a fire extinguisher. He sprayed it until it was empty. "I was calling for my daughter and getting no response. I came out, grabbed the hose and sprayed her room until I heard she was out. I was always taught to help when you can; help is what I tried to do," said Jensen. He continued to recount the events. He said he then took the garden hose and started watering down his fence and the back corner of his rooftop, trying to prevent the fire from spreading to his property. But with each attempt, Daniel said Pinellas Park Police kept pulling him back... even though firefighters were not in sight. "They kept telling me, 'Let it go, that's what insurance is for.' That's not acceptable to me," said Jensen. Captain Sanfield Forseth with the Pinellas Park Police Department said officers could have charged him with obstruction for not listening to an officer's orders. "I wasn't doing that. What I was doing was what any home owner would do to protect a family and home," said Jensen.
Captain Forseth said the department will not be charging him. When Jensen saw the fire jump on to his back roof, he again grabbed the hose. That's when he said -- unknown to him -- a police officer pulled out a taser and fired it at his back. "As I went to grab the hose, I hear an officer on this side. There was a boat here; he was just behind it. He said, 'Hit him, hit him! Take him down, tase him!'" explained Jensen. "I didn't know they were talking to me, or about me. I was concerned about putting water on the fire, and the next thing you know I'm being tased."
You stay classy, Pinellas Park Police Dept.

Well, we've spent over a dozen pages now highlighting some of the lesser-quality police officers in America in this thread, so I suppose giving credit where it is due is appropriate.

This story comes to us from the NYPD, courtesy of a tourist in Times Square from Arizona:

A photo of a New York City police officer kneeling down to give a barefoot homeless man in Times Square a pair of boots on a cold November night is melting even the iciest New Yorkers' hearts online.

On Nov. 14, NYPD officer Lawrence DePrimo, who was on counterterrorism duty in Times Square, saw the older homeless man without shoes sitting on 42nd Street. DePrimo, 25, left and then returned with a pair of $100 boots he bought at a nearby Skechers store.

"It was freezing out, and you could see the blisters on the man's feet," DePrimo, a three-year veteran of the department who lives with his parents on Long Island, told the New York Times. "I had two pairs of socks, and I was still cold."

The random act of kindness was captured by Jennifer Foster, a tourist from Florence, Ariz., who was visiting the city. Foster, communications director for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office in Arizona, emailed the photo to the NYPD with a note commending DePrimo.

"The officer said, 'I have these size 12 boots for you, they are all-weather. Let's put them on and take care of you,'" Foster wrote. "The officer squatted down on the ground and proceeded to put socks and the new boots on this man.

"I have been in law enforcement for 17 years," she continued. "I was never so impressed in my life. ... It is important, I think, for all of us to remember the real reason we are in this line of work. The reminder this officer gave to our profession in his presentation of human kindness has not been lost."

Foster claims DePrimo had no idea he was being photographed...
Here is the pic:

And they most likely knew who he was considering he won a $25,000 settlement from the same police department after they unlawfully arrested him on eavesdropping/wiretapping charges in 2005.

This time, it appears the Hawthorne Police Department will be dishing out much more, thanks to officer Gabriel Lira’s abuse of authority.

You know what? I'll bet you an enterprising person could make a very good living out of sort of thing, if they really decided to make a regular career out of testing the police.

That's Hawthorne. The department sticks up for some of the worst officers.

One of my black friends was pulled over by a Hawthorne police officer. The officer reached in the car and grabbed one of his CD's. He said, "I hate that nigger music" and threw the CD in the street where it got run over.

I've had the privilage of being harrassed by the Hawthorne police. They are corrupt assholes.
