This one has nothing to do with race-unless you wanna talk bout how ignorant we are for trying to PHYSICALLY resists arrest, even if the charge is bogus, you dont try to get into a fight w/the cop. Look at the video again, those ladies are both in the wrong.

Friend: Yes, the women were "fighting" with the cop. But you think it was necessary for him to punch her in the face? He mistreated her. And I'm sure they are trained to deal with situations like this so he shouldn't be nervous. That's part of the job. To punch a teenage girl in the face is uncalled for. And the problem is officers feel it's ok to treat US any way just because of what you said and what many believe. "we are ignorant for trying to physically resists arrest." That's my thought.

Reply 4: Would you have preferred him to shoot her in the foot? Cus he coulda done that...then maybe there'd be something to complain about. He is now dealing with two hostile women who are hitting him, what you mean punching her in the face was unecessary. He did not "mistreat" her, if you watch the video the girl started hitting on him, I'm just not quick to cry colored when we are the ones hitting on a cop, we might as well scream RACE everytime we f up. I just dont like pulling that card every time whites and blacks are involved, not always called for. She was mistreating him if you ask me-what genius told those girls hitting a cop is the way to go when you disagree. Yes resisting arrest IS ignorant, and when you start hitting on a cop you are lucky you dont get a bullet to the system, and if you know anyone who is a police officer, they will tell you how it goes down if you think you have a "right" to put your hands on them cus you 'disagree with the charge". That big a$$ girl in the pink started hitting him, and the other one was already a hot mess talking bout "gett offfa mee son" c'mon now, really, if im arresting your cousin and you start hitting on me, ure lucky if you get punched in ur face and dont hit the ground from it, at least he left her on her feet. I didnt enjoy watching her get punched, I'm not saying that, but I did see both these girls buggin out and their actions also had me shaking my head.

Friend: Im just saying, punching her in the face was not necessary in this situation. Problem is, too many officers are too scared when it comes to dealing with black people. If we're being ignorant or not, too many of us, in my opinion are being mistreated, including her. He couldn't handle that teenage girl another way by grabbing her and putting the cuffs on her? That's his fear showing by punching her. And she wasn't that big! Also, I would love to see how this all began. Jaywalking can't be that serious of a crime in Seattle. I dont see the officer's actions being necessary. He could of handled that better. BUT, I see where you're coming from.

Courthouse News Service

Police come to this guys house to investigate a noise complaint and ask for id. So he goes into the house to get it and the cop follows him in. He has a problem with this and gets a video of the cop in his house at which point he is arrested for videotaping the cop and "public" intoxication.

Never question authority. All policemen are heroes and anyone who says otherwise should be shot. There is no double-standard, everything is fine and dandy. Go back to sleep. When a cop barges into your home and treats you like a slave make sure to pin a medal on his chest before he beats you senseless and punches your daughter in the jaw for jaywalking.

How dare we question men with guns and the power to take away our liberty, you know?

Somewhere, some place, you know in your heart that the cops who beat Rodney King are thinking to themselves "How come we didn't think of this!?"

Well, that video killed them in public opinion but when viewed in its entirety also showed why they became so violent which saved them at trial.

Oh, no doubt the motorcyclist is a pompous wannabe playboy driving like a fucking moron who is lucky to be alive considering his own stupidity; however, in my opinion, all the cop had to do was flash his badge and that's it.

Welp, it's been a while but when I read this I couldn't resist updating the thread given the last two sentences of the article.

Shafer and DeMarco said use of tear gas during rodeo events is not permitted, and they would have filed criminal charges against a citizen who released the gas.
"I can't think that we could punish him any more than HPD can, but how stupid can an individual be," DeMarco said. "If it was John Q. Public, we would arrest then press the full charges that the law would allow."

1. Massachusetts has crazy views regarding guns too. Things are so bad here that even with a lawful permit, the police would probably revoke the permit if one were to lawfully carried in public, reasoning that if the gun causes people and cops to panic, the carrier is not "responsible" enough to have the weapon. 2. Boston cops go apeshit when they get taped too. They arrest people and confiscate phones all the time, even though it is department policy to allow taping. The department even has a training video that was leaked to the press last year showing that cops are supposed to allow people to videotape, as long as the person taping does not obstruct the police in any way.

Needless to say, 99.9% of all officers should not be allowed to be officers in the first place.
