i dont smoke weed, but i dont think it is my place to tell anyone else what they should or should not do. this goes into play for ALL drugs. if someone wants to do meth or coke, i say let them do what they want. i dont want meth heads telling me what freedoms i can and cannot have, and i'll show them the same respect. a common argument against this is "meth heads steal cars and break into homes!", which obviously crosses the "its not my business line". well you know what? i say if meth heads are breaking into cars and houses, LOCK THEM UP FOR BREAKING INTO CARS AND HOUSES. doing that is NOT an involunatry action, and it should not be treated like one.

charge people for crimes against others, but NEVER crimes against themselves. this falls under "life, liberty, and persuit of happiness". if meth makes them happy, then it is their liberty to do with their life as they please, as long as it does not impede on anyone elses life, liberty, or persuit of happiness. because thats what a "free country" is all about.

legalize it.
I agree with you that it should be legalized. I was just pointing out the over reaching nature of our current federal govt

Exactly!

Personal responsibility for ones own decisions should be a key thing when it comes to "victimless crimes". We have a completely nanny'd culture.. and it needs to change.

On the radio, or tv, or in movies, people want the Government to censor content for the rest of the population rather than taking the responsibility of changing the channel, the station, or not going to the movie.

Yeah, but booze makes people stupid AND violent, when they over-do it. You can do a lot of things that can make you stupid, or you can be that way naturally. People who are already stupid SHOULDN'T be drinking, but you can't stop them. The bottom line to me is, pot is less physically damaging than alcohol, doesn't lead to harder drugs (that is a myth and always has been) and, used in moderation, is no more dangerous than alcohol, probably not AS dangerous(ever hear of anybody dying from THC poisoning?)Weed should have been legalized a long time ago. Think of all the jailspace we'd have for the violent criminals, and how many more cops would be freed up to deal with street crime and other SERIOYS drug dealers. The ones who deal Coke, Heroin, and Speed. I say it's "high time!" Sorry, couldn't resist the bad pun........

Yeah...that's why I am split on this. In the end, I could care less if weed is legalized...but totally unregulated? I can't see supporting that.
