| I went to an Eric Clapton concert last night.... It was great. Robert Cray was the opening act and he also performed with Clapton on a few songs. I was surprised at what a good singer Clapton still is. For some reason I always think of him more of a musician than a singer but he is definitely both. He had a guitarist named Derek Trucks that probably did more solo's than Clapton and I don't think anyone cared. That Trucks guy was amazing. It was a real "bluesy" concert. There were a few times if I closed my eyes I think I could have thought I was at a Stevie Ray Vaughn concert, which isn't a bad thing at all. They really stretched out a few of their songs. A few might have even gone over 10 minutes with all the instrumentals and solo's. Eric was quiet. He said hello at the beginning, named the musicians after solo's and then said goodnight at the end. That was it. Not much of a talker. Great concert. If you are a Clapton or blues fan I would highly recommend it. | ||||
