And great link you gave there.
Did it answer the question? Then it was a good link. But since you've got sand in it today here's another

I approve this message - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and another
Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now go after wiki as being unreliable
But if you're right and it *had to be on there, then whatever, I was wrong.
...hate to break the news to you, but..........

I still haven't read anything that requires an independent third party commercial to have that tag-line.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You won't see hsmith or me or any other libertarian saying Bush's spending on the war is a good thing either.

And no, that's not true of everyone. I don't want money being spent on anything - even things I may think are "good."

you want to build the road for everywhere you want to go?
you want to synthesize the drug for any illness you develop?
you want to individually defend the country against anyone/everyone who attacks?

good luck with those.

Obviously, a balance must be struck. The thing is, we're sooooo far out of balance now, it will take a long time to just get back to a point where we are more free, more secure, and just plain better off.

I have gravel brought out almost every year, to lay down on the road that connects to my driveway. I also pay tolls when I travel interstate (to states like KS and OK, for example), and pay taxes on fuel that I purchase for my automobiles.

Synthetic drugs are as much the disease as they are the cure. Synthetic drugs are making Americans stupid and fat, and at the same time, the companies that manufacture them find the "cures". It's an evil cycle that does NOT NEED the help of the government to perpetuate itself.

While I cannot be expected to defend the entire country, I can defend my own land, and also play a part in protecting my neighbor's property. Defending our country is also something in the Constitution, and I think our government has a legitimate role in it, to some extent. Just not to the "we're defending the US by invading [insert soveriegn nation here]" extent.

So the roads in your town...they should all be gravel? Will you have that done or should everyone who owns a car chip in?

Tell that to my dad who is driving to boston today for his Lupron shot. Without it he'd be dead from cancer. Tell that to the millions (billions?) who've avoided polio, plague, tetanus, diphtheria, rabies, typhoid........ and that's just a small list of a small corner of what "synthetic drugs" have done. Sythetic drugs save lives.

I'm going to guess even the half-baked Jamaican army would roll through your town with defenses like "I'll defend my land and help my neighbor."

Notice my use of the word "nearly".

Sorry, but you guys are in the minority.
Most of us don't have a problem with using the power of the country and it's money to get certain things done.

Right. But also most of you disagree on what those things should be.

I would say most people don't disagree on what most of those things should be, if that makes any sense.

Sure they do. The similarities end with roads and law enforcement basically.

I'm completely fine with that.

And nice of you to ignore the other two things you posted, which are provided by corporations in numerous places, very effectively.

I actually addressed two of the three in that very post...nice of you to notice.

But the 3rd...exactly why would a private company build and maintain a public road if it wasn't allowed to put a toll on it? I know there are private companies that maintain roads in some places, but they're paid with tax dollars. They're not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.
