Private business != our government. Nice try. If there is ample evidence of wrong doing, there need not be a criminal conviction. Keep trying to spin it, deny it and pray for it...it won't change the fact that you don't need to be convicted of a crime to be impeached.

It doesn't make it legal. They should be held accountable as well.

Yes, but the "conservatives" on this board think it gives him a blank slate

Congress. But it has to be at least a misdemeanor.

Nobody said it was legal. I just said it would be impossible to convict someone of a crime that you backed.

How many times are you going to ask that question ?

So you want to impeach him.....fantastic. You do know what that means, right? It means he's accused. Ok, so you accuse him of "crimes against the constitution" or some crap like that. Now what? Impeached does NOT mean he's out of office, it means trial... in this case for crimes against the constitution... of which he'll be acquitted because everything he did was backed by congress.

Impeaching him means accusing him......... he's not out of office unless he's convicted. But even according to you he won't be convicted *unless* he somehow perjures himself during the trial. Quite the circular argument you've got going there.

"Congress" didn't know about or have feigned knowledge of a lot of their spying activities. And again, just because something was backed by Congress doesn't mean it was legal...see "Terri Schiavo" as an example. If they knowingly presented information to Congress that was wrong...and Congress backed them using that information...that's doesn't excuse the crime committed by the people presenting the false information. Congress was ignorant due to the manipulation of the information provided to them. See how that works?

Hey, i'd take a Clinton style impeachment at this point...SOMETHING to hold him accountable for his bullshit...whether he comes out of office or not.

Congress had access to the same information the administration used to make its case. Congress also had access to information from other sources, such as intelligence from other countries. Congress made their decision based on information from othe sources, too, *not* just what was presented by Rice and Powell

So you want a witchhunt...I'm ok with that as long as it's clear up front.

NT RLY. When other sources...other information was presented, it was summarily dismissed with MORE disinformation...provided in the speeches by Bush, Rice, Powell...etc.

Nope. I want him to be held accountable for this bullshit war in Iraq and the bullshit spying on American Citizens.

I hate to be the guy who says I want a link, because it is annoying for you to have to go find credible sources. But I have heard this out of top republican's mouths defending themselves and no where else. Contrarily I have testimony from whitehouse and intelligence officials and Woodward's first book (the older one) that says the charges were intentionally trumped up. Also the UN inspectors found no evidence of weapons and were vocal on that point. What was all this other evidence?

Clinton was impeached for cause though. He was on the stand defending a sexual harrassment charge where he was questioned about his fidelity and he committed perjury. Everyone likes to pretend he got impeached for getting a blowjob, he was impeached for perjury. If Bush blatantly lied in court don't you think the Dems would do the same thing?

Like I said, it was quashed by the mountain of disinformation the mouthpieces of this administration piled up. Once something that was credible came out, it was torn apart by Rove and his minions so they could meet whatever the fuck goals they had with this venture.

"But Clinton did it" is not a valid excuse. Clinton comitted a crime with his perjury and got what he deserved. This president needs to get what he deserves for his incompetence, mismanagement and lies.
