Sure you can believe whatever you like but that does not make you immune from people attacking you for having those beliefs, and it is a legitimate concern when you have a great deal of power that those beliefs may be given inappropriate force.

And I believe an even bigger deal, when the person in power feels their religion is dictating their decisions, and then that means that our soldiers have to die because "God" told him that the War was the way to go.

Well that is the sort of inappropriate force that concerns me.

While I respect that people are entitled to religious viewpoints (or pretty much any viewpoint) they are not entitled to have that viewpoint respected, regardless of the office they hold.
