| What would you do about a politician that... What would you do about a politition that signed on with your ad agency with a clear understanding that you charge 15% of ad budget. The fee includes ads placed outside of the contracted firm. I have never held a client to a contract they did not want to be in however, this client will not tell me why she wants out. On the face of things she has simply taken my recommendations, ad copy, produced ads and run away with them. She has gone to media direct and told them that I was not to get proofs and they are hiding invoices. She has stolen all she can from me given the work that I do. Once again, she will not give me a reason. | ||||

| Well, I'd say "give me a reason or give me the money you owe me" if I were you. If she can't tell you the reasons for wanting out, she doesn't deserve your kindness insofar as letting her out of her contractual agreements. | ||||

She has gone to media direct and told them that I was not to get proofs and they are hiding invoices. She has stolen all she can from me given the work that I do. Once again, she will not give me a reason. Why don't I sue her? She is a sitting Judge and I can not get a local to do it. Why don't I go out of the area? She only has a 40K ad budget. I worked day and night for her. I did not even go on my 17 year anniversary trip because I did not want any loose ends for her. I even turned away new clients because I was afraid the workload would negatively affect all my clients not just my politician. I would love nothing more than to go to the other side vent and offer my services in an ad (I was paid to work for her but my vote goes to him) I won't because I am under a confidentially clause as well as my morals say don't do it. Ethics are also something I don't want to compromise. What would you do? I feel like the public has a right to know that we have a judge that steels, cheats and lies. On the other hand her win would be good for my agency. Please help Last edited by Jen36okay; 10-22-2006 at 04:33 PM.. | ||||

| I'd make lots of posts like these all over the net, but leave your location in your profile so that the semi-pro/amateur-wannbee political hacks can have fun speculating about who you're talking about. Possibly, depending on her political hue, you may find that money for a suit flows in. Personally, I find your moral dilema weird, ..., but then you work in advertising Last edited by avsp; 10-23-2006 at 12:44 PM.. | ||||

| you can sue anyone in small claims let this person know you're going to file and then you're going to tell the media this candidate stole your work and didn't pay you. This is no different than if you were a mechanic and she came and you fixed her car and she left without paying. | ||||

| I do not know enough of the situation so I am going off assumptions but... If she is a politician just play politics. She is obviously running against someone. After she is out of the contract go to her opponent and tell this person what happened and what kind of advertisements they will see for the theif or against her opponent. Maybe even volunteer to help make a new advertisement against said thief that attacks her integrity in effort to prevent her from being elected. | ||||
