| My fellow republicans have become Delusional :hsd: I am so disappointed in much of my party. People discussing the deficit, the rampant federal spending and the war on terror have really begun to get on my nerves. Not because they're discussing these things but because so many prominent members and high ups in the GOP refuse to acknowledge that we've spent entirely too much money. I just watched a prominent republican on Foxnews defend the deficit and the rampant spending. She said that "deficits are ok when we're at war". Barron shot a big huge hole in that argument and she responds "we ran huge deficits in the first world war and in world war II. We would not have a deficit at all if it weren't for the war on terror." That little spill by her really just pisses me off. We are not spending 400 billion a year on the war. If you include "the war" and the increased DoD spending its total is about 220 billion dollars which means we've still got a deficit. We have a deficit because this administration has thus far refused to veto any spending bills. I realize this isn't entirely the presidents fault but the bulk of it lies in the president and republicans who are in control of the house, senate and white house and I'm frustrated | ||||

| I've got news for you - it's no longer your party. I defended Bush up to and including the 2004 election, but I guess I woke up in 2005 from my conservative upbringing and realized that Bush and Republicans in Congress represent almost nothing I believe in (and I'm not saying that Dems do). | ||||

| traditional conservative thinking believes the government should stay out of private lives. I'm fine with that too. It's this "conservative social agenda" that thinks some group of our citizenry is so morally superior that they should be able to dictate stuff that gets to me.. So, I totally agree. | ||||
