I guess one question i'd have for the skeptics of global warming.... and that is why is it the mass of ice that was consitantly frozen over hundreds of years now melting at record pace.

Do they also realize the implications of altering the atlantic current by introducing to much freshwater into the ocean?

OMG FOX NEWS

Global warming is occuring now. It is going to continue to warm more and more. Bu the time we hit 2099 which is about 90 years from now.. the change will be drastic. Less than one century. Not Centuries, plural.

My concern with pollution really goes back to the air I have to breath, food i eat, and water i drink. It concerns me when i look out the window toward downtown and there is a burnt orange/brown haze and anyone with a window open 30 floors up is breathing that shit in.

The ice caps melting has happened after every ice age How do we know they are at record paces?

Yes, we realize the theoretical implications of fresh water in the ocean over centuries' time.

Fox News is hardly a scientific expert of any sort.

A respect for the environment, its cleanliness, and your health, is hardly relevant to global warming and the fearmongering and political pandering that goes along with it.

They are record paces for what, the few decades we have been measuring it? Are they record compared to the last ice ages thousands of yrs past?

And you're telling me to 'come on man'...

You are clearly choosing to be ignorant on this subject. Have fun debating.

Then why the comment about Fox News?

The government pays so much attention to it because it's become so political.

When one only considers global warming data in such a small time period, they are indeed the ignorant ones.

so do you think we should just ignore the data that has been found?

Through our many debates on this subject I have countered pretty much every one of your arguements with scientific studies proving you wrong. Yet you still continue to make the same arguements or you try and change the subject by diverting the arguement to some other issue.

Example:" You say that global warming will gradually occur over the ensuing centuries. I show you a scientific study that proves you wrong..
You then say that Fox NEws isn't a scientific organization...You try to shift the discussion by making an irelevant comment. I once again point out that you don't have a point and you then ignore the fact that you were wrong about the previous two items and instead say that the study was done because the issue has become politicized. You have no proof of this, but you make the arguement anyway.
In the past you have argued that there was no scientific concensus on global warming. Report after report proves you wrong yet you still make the arguement. You bring up the 1970's global cooling issue over and over despite it's irrelavance.
Now you have shifted your arguement yet again saying that global warming is occuring but I don't care because it won't be as bad as the experts say it will be. Again, an opinion that mountains of scientific studies disagree with.

Who's the one who is chosing to ignore reality? It is certainly not I.

Nope. I think we should say 'Ok, how does this compare to other trends in the past?' If we can't compare them, then we are unable to make conclusions about our affect on the climate. It's not that I want or don't want to, it's that we can't, and it drives me crazy when people try. At this point, the politcal agenda for the environment should not be the 'fear of global warming' but cleanliness, safety, health, and respect for the environment. The global warming stuff can be 'left for more study'

And in return, I've countered almost all of yoru arguements with scientific studies, statements from some of the most prominent scientists (some at MIT), and yet you still make the same arguements or try to change the subject by diverting to some other issue. Conundrum! Given the lack of indisputable evidence, you'd think you'd take the side of 'we just don't know'. But instead you prefer to side with the 'we're all doomed!' crowd. Trust me, if there was indisputable evidence, I'd be shouting the same things you are. But there isn't, and I'm not.

So how do you push for that ideal? How do you motivate the industrial base to push for cleaner and more environmentally efficient methods of production? Those kinds of things mean more money to spend on something that probably won't help them generate any more revenue.

You have countered nothing. The only evidence you have ever posted to support your opnion is that of a minority of scientists that are still uncertain of whether or not the warming is human caused. You have never offered evidence that it is NOT human caused because there isn't any such evidence.

All recent studies have shown that warming is occuring FASTER then we thought. The ice caps are melting faster than we thought. Studies done by independant agancies from around the world all find the same thing. You find one guy who is still in doubt and use that as proof that it's not happening.

Again, you're wrong. I post evidence all the time, much of which counters what scientists are alway saying. I've posted evidence that too many trees are bad for the environment, whereas it was once believed that we didn't have enough. I've posted evidence of studies where it's actually trees that are producing greenhouse gases, whereas it was believed to be us. I've posted evidence that farts are worse than CO2 we produce. I've posted evidence that nature itself produces more CO2 than we ever have or could ever imagine producing. I've provided evidence that ice caps are actually getting bigger. And more recently, I've provided evidence that major proponents of global warming are now suggesting that they weren't right before, as melting of ice is slower than they thought.

The turning tide on global warming

All the recent studies I see show that global warming is occuring SLOWER than we thought. See, it's simply not indisputable data.
