Web/HTML people. Help...

Hey all. I had the strangest thing happen and I can't quite see what caused it.

My son is on a local swim team. I recently got a Nikon D50 dSLR (which I love) and took shitloads of pictures at his swim meets. Since I had tons of picture of everyone I decided I would be nice and put them on my personal website for all the parents to look at.

Well, I have made web pages before. Nothing fancy, just basic. I created a quick one in Word (don't laugh) and it worked but I decided I might fancy it up a bit and do it in Frontpage. So I did and uploaded it and it worked great in IE, but in Firefox is saw the page a .gif. The links were not clickable. If you right clicked anywhere on the page Firefox gave you the options like you were clicking on a graphic. WTF would cause that?

http://flickr.com also works pretty well for simple image sharing.

I already have a great program for image sharing on my website. I have over 1500 photo's on it already. It's the first page that I used to link the gallary that I screwed up somehow. Let me upload the bad page and I will link it for you.

Frontpage is tha debil. GoLive and Dreamweaver are less the debil, but the best is straight up HTML, PHP, and CSS (my personal choice)

The regex search/replace is fucking insanity. I work with these 80k+ line XML files and that function has saved my life more than once.

I textpad'ed my way through programming classes in college

I prefer it over emacs and everything else. I love how it's so customizable, and can have compilers integrated into it and shit. It's just such a great program.

I actually helped Motivez with something the other day where he sent me a file I had to go through... since I don't program often, I didn't have Textpad installed, but had to go download it before I could even look at the code

Yeah I actually started using Textpad for my intro to C class way back when but didn't use it in earnest until 2004 or so when my Java professor was telling us to pay and register a copy b/c it was so good. The compile/run feature were AWESOME for that. I love the color-coding plugins as well. I don't think I could code at the level I do without that program.

My company is strictly a .NET shop so I get shit from the developers over the PHP/MySQL thing (my team has its own servers that I handle). This one old dude will walk by and shake his head talking about "you UNIX guys"
