im starting to believe the biggest reason conservatives think the media has a liberal bias...its because they only hear the parts that work towards their beliefs.

an example i saw that made me laugh was on youtube. i know its not exactly the media, but its an example (to me at least) of how a persons biased opinion helps them only see the stuff that helps out their argument. its a video of the “loose change” guys debating the popular mechanics guys. the video is titled "popular mechanics skools internet assholes". Now, its not that i buy into the loose change theories, but for anyone thats watched those videos, there is no "skooling" of anyone going on. If anything, the ones caught stuttering and seemingly unprepared for the debate are the popular mechanics guys.

also, i have never seen the movie, just the clips they debated on.

I think he's suggesting that conservatives are too ignorant to view the current media objectively. Only the liberals can view it from a correct point of view and the liberal media is all a figment of conservatives imagination. This poster on youtube claiming the Loose Change guys as losing a debate he feels was equal is evidence of that.

no, to be honest...i dont think it has much to do with any ones intelligence. i feel it more about ideology. keep americans afraid, and hold onto power while your pockets get fat. who cares about the little guy, they should work harder, blah blah blah.

there is an insane amount of info out there that shows that our president, vice president, secretary of defense, and congress are totally corrupt and have done almost nothing to improve this country for the average citizen. yet, so many people still defend all of the above. why is this?

i think that even if i was a republican, i would vote democratic this go around. maybe the party would regroup, get their heads out of their asses, wake up, and possibly return to what your party used to be. are democrats really that bad in your mind? someone explain this to me, because i dont see any reason the current congress should be viewed in a positive way.

No, beacuse for decades of only the big three Networks and later CNN liberals could count on the fact that they would "only hear the parts that work twards their beliefs."

same here. i personally dont know if the democrats will turn the country around and get everything on the up & up, but its not like what we currently have is giving us much to look forward to. i honestly dont feel that either party should have complete control. i never want the dems to hold all branches of government, just as i dont like that republicans do now. this country needs parties to disagree, but disagree in a way that helps them work towards a compromise. not just a group of greedy assholes that got into politics to get rich.

i think republicans should take a step back and really take a hard look at their party. are they really doing anything to improve the country? is this really the republican party any of you chose to be a member of? i hope not, because as an american, you should be disgusted about the current state of our country.

we have handed over the country to a group that has no interest in improving our lives. Bit by bit we have given up on our liberties, and for what, security? “wire taps? Im not breaking any laws, who cares!”, “its ok to torture? why do I care, im not a terrorist!”

this country is acting like one big pussy when it comes to the thought of a terrorist attack. we are the most powerful nation in the world, and a group that never exceeded a couple thousand members turned us all into a bunch of bitches with a couple well planned attacks. most of us face a higher risk of being hit by a car, or being the victim to a random act of violence than we ever will of a terrorist attack. why didnt we pour $300 billion into our police force here in america? wouldn’t the police in america be better at protecting america?

For the record there are plenty of liberals who think the loose change people are retarded and respect science.
I watched to video, and the only way you construe the loose change people not getting completely embarrassed was that the pop mechanics guys didn't rub it in their faces and sensationalize it.

i dont really care either way. even if there were some grand conspiricy, we are never going to know the truth. for the record, those loose change guys being able to even make that movie, and have as many people see it as they have...thats really whats great about america.

my point was mostly about the title of the clip though. obviously the person that posted the clip saw it as a one sided thrashing. now, i try my very best to have an open mind and always listen to all sides, and there was no clear "skooling" by any side in that debate.
