It was jest...and bow now.

Because they HAVE to take the stimulus. It was mandatory. That was the worst part about that bill. It forced states and local municipalities to take the money, fixing their budgets, temporarily. So, what happens next year when they are still in the red and all the stimulus money is gone?

That's so radically pitiful it's not even fun. I know it's true but it still makes me sick. Where do these fools in congress think all this money is coming from? Obama's secret stash?

Mo, they didn't. They could have taken a stand on principle but didn't...because of fears their people wouldn't vote them back in office.

Nobody forces these guys to pose for pictures with oversized checks when they hand the money out.

My question again is this, if Obama's policies are so good for america, why do members of his party need major bribes to go along with them?
Well here is the deal. Any time a democrat puts the word "health" and "reform" in the same sentence, republicans and fox news are ready to paint it as some communist/socialist bill that will destroy the foundation of our country, result in no healthcare for anyone, and leave us in economic ruin. People in my state actually believe that shit. They actually listen to Glenn Beck... like take him seriously.

As a democrat from a republican state - he has to vote a certain way to represent the people of the state. Should he choose not too, the centrist/conservative democrat will be replaced by a republican.

I would not use Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman's votes as a method to measure the legitimacy of Obama's policies.

Why not Joe Lieberman? Connecticut isn't exactly known for its conservative politics.

Neither is Massachusetts, which if you may recall, just elected a Republican on the promise that he would vote to kill Obama's healthcare agenda.

If people in MA aren't even on board with what he's selling, at some point you just have to admit that the product is akin to a Toyota with a faulty gas pedal, you know?
