| Polls On Iraq Here are some interesting polls on Iraq: Iraq At best it seems to me that except for some cases, the general attitude across America is mixed with the "I do not support" slightly in the lead. There are some polls that do trump this, however, such as the one that asked: CBS News/New York Times Poll. Sept. 15-19, 2006. N=1,131 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3 (for all adults).RV = registered voters . "Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling the situation with Iraq?" Which showed that 68% of Republicans approved and 86% of Democrats disapproved. Last edited by Diamond Cross; 10-26-2006 at 03:33 AM.. Reason: mispelling | ||||

| I think that as more and more people come to realize that this Administration and the civilian leadership in the Pentagon has incompetently managed the war, let politics (troop levels never being high enough at the start despite generals assertions it would be needed), and continues to allow our troops to flail without a real plan.. things are only going to get worse for those in public office who show support for it. There was an interesting article yesterday saying that Malaki had outright rejected the "timetable that wasn't really a timetable".. or benchmarks or whatever they're calling them to make themselves look less like they're hopping aboard various Democrats plans. When the Iraqi Government refuses such things, is it really worth it to have an open ended arrangement with them? | ||||

| Maybe so. I still believe in that we're doing good over there though, but disagree with the way President Bush went about it, using strong arm tactics to convince the United Nations to support him (either you supportr me or I'll withdraw membership), not having a clear cut definition of what victory is and when we should withdraw our troops. And not allowing partisan politics to micromanage the military operations in Iraq against the terrorists. I do believe that if the Iraqis don't want us there then we shouldn't be there we shouldn't be there and that if asked to leave by the rightful government then we should leave. For the most part I feel that the people who do want us out though are those loyal to Saddam, and it is his people that are doing the best to disrupt the rebuilding process and attacking thode not loyal to him and Americans thedre. | ||||
