| First of all interest on the debt can drive it up if we dont pay enough off on it. Secondly its been suggested that the projects were wrong based on faulty corporate accounting which led to false revenue streams to the government. This can't be 100% proven but based on the same data that you've presented many economist and treasury workers assume that the surplus was an illusion. Though still better than the rampant deficits we were running for a few years. | ||||
