Really? I have been poor/lower middle class for the majority of my life.
So has my family. We have never collected welfare or government assistance.

I've never claimed that each party has exclusive voters, so I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I never said poor people don't recieve help from the government. I only asked you to backup your claim that "many" do.

Ditto for welfare recipients voting Dem! If the KKK is irrelevant because they're a small minority and don't vote, then why are welfare recipients at all relevant to this conversation? They are also a minority and don't vote...yet they're even more irrelevant than the KKK...the KKK probably votes 100% republican. Welfare recipients, who are mostly white, have probably been swayed significantly Republican because of gays, guns and gun.

Don't confuse welfare recipients with black welfare recipients, the focus of this discussion. It's well-known that blacks go Democratic. I don't even know why you question why.

Certainly I didn't bring it up...it's because Republicans think blacks vote Dem because they think Dems will give them welfare. That's retarded. I have no doubt that it includes a mixture of many things, the welfare issue being one, perhaps the perceived racist attitude another. Affirmative Action was a huge issue, you can't forget that. That is certainly an issue of hte government giving them things.
