Single Family Home for sale at 14855 N 148th E Ave, Collinsville, OK, 74021

I couldn't actually find one that expensive but these are brand new houses so you could expand it for more money I suppose. All of the houses in the neighborhood are pretty big (3000+ sq ft) and they sit on a couple acres each.

I imagine you'd find a similar situation in any smaller town in the middle of the country. Find the big city you want to live near and then look around the outside of it's suburbs.

It is very common for middle aged people by me to move to North Carolina from my state due to taxation and the overpriced housing market. I haven't done too much research on why they choose North Carolina moreso than other states, but I believe it is because they have a decent job market and affordable housing/taxes.

Is the job market thing a factor? I thought you owned your own business. You plan on packing it up or selling it or just continuing it from wherever you end up?

About how much sq. footage do you mean when you say big? Do you want to move out-of-state?

Yeah, I am tired of working 16 hour days+weekends. I am thinking of dumping most clients and taking on a 9-5 job somewhere and letting my wife run the business remotely.

~2000. Yeah, I think I am done with California taxes.

We have a law that requires me to audit the sales tax on every receipt for every item we purchase and make sure it matches the county we are in that starts this year.

Lulz, 2000 is big? Mine is 1900 on 2.5 acres and cost 180k. For 350k you could buy a mini mansion. California is ridiculous.

Depends on what you're looking for. I am also sure you're well aware that you want to look into more than just housing prices and taxes...

You might want to stay away from border states for a while.

Yeah. I love the deserts, but my wife hates them. Another concern with Nevada is the future availability of water. I don't think the state can continue to grow and continue to supply enough water to the people.

We have a place in Vegas we bought about 7 years ago. Love it. Water isn't that large of an issue in my opinion. The runoff from the mountains and the Colorado River are plenty enough and if I recall correctly, there is currently a plan in place to start pumping from a giant aquifer underground.

Climate can be an adjustment for anyone moving from southern CA. Although I'm in California (for now until we move north), I prefer the northwest without the humidity of the midwest or eastern states. The Pacific NW has the least volatile weather in the country, except maybe CA. Though you may not like colder winters of the north or does that make any difference?

Do you prefer being near a large or smaller city?
Southern Oregon (no sales tax in OR) is fairly mild and does not get as much rain as further north in Oregon or western WA. Boise, ID has relatively mild winters. Homes the size you are looking for at the price you want to pay are available in these areas, but these are not big city areas.

Im not really fond of anywhere outside of California. I am sure I could grow to like other places, however. I wouldn't even mind leaving the US if it weren't for the double taxation and patriot act laws.

I might just move to Connecticuit to be closer to my wife's siblings.

CT is expensive too... but at least you'll have family.

Family is important and may even seem more so after having a baby. There are some areas in CA where homes are less expensive, but then there's still the taxes to deal with.

You can get a pretty nice place here in Nebraska for $350,000. Oklahoma is probably the cheapest in the region, but they do have tornados like every other day.

The taxes in NE are out of control, but everything else is fairly reasonable.
