I don't know about you, but I feel very assured after that response.

I like how she starts off with "Your president and you have..." hahaha

If dems get the house and senate they'll attempt to raise taxes. If they get the white house in 08 and have both houses they'll raise taxes unless something drastic changes...like they curtail spending

So how are we supposed to pay for this war machine we are building? The country is going to have to eventually pay this bill and it isnt going to matter who is in office. What we wont forget is who charged up this huge expense.

Having said all that,,,, damn she was pathetic....

Lowering taxes increases government revenue over the long term. Raising taxes is a quick bandaid and hurts us long term.

In theory. but it never has in practice. The recent round of tax cuts resulted in a net loss in government income over what income would have been had taxes not been cut. Even the government itself agrees that these tax cuts only generated enough of an increase in reveune to pay for about 7% of the tax cuts. meaning that 93% of the tax cuts were direct loss in government income.

How can you say anything about the long run of the recent tax cuts when there has been no long run yet?

Don't ask me. Ask the Congressional Budget Office.

And there is something wrong with the government losing some if it's "government income?"

not at all.. Just so long as they cut spending to accompany thier decreased income.. and so long as they don't go along thinking that if they cut taxes that they will end up getting more money so they should spend spend spend.

cut taxes, cut spending. Cut taxes and for every 100 dollars, cut spending by 93 dollars and it should all work out.

Woudn't work. Politicians would be too afraid to lose their seats because they couldn't keep their promises.
