Whatever. I think the context of his "joke" being about the President, it makes sense, and he has a very valid point.

I mean, from my own perspective, when i listen to the President, I don't find myself saying "WOW, I should get an education like HE did." and that's what he was trying to tell those students. And you know what, he's right. And I think anyone that has been passed over for something they wanted because the person who got it had a rich daddy, an education handed to them, and connections to serve in non active duty and his joke of a military record he has tried to tout as something to be proud of, that isn't something I would want my kid to aspire to either.

The actual quality of Bush's education has little to do with the context of his comments. Just whether he was talking about Bush or about soldiers, considering it came of to me initially like he was talking about Bush, and thats what he says he was talking about, I'd say it's a pretty likely that he was referring to Bush and not the soldiers.

What's really hilarious is watching Bush, a walking caricature of an elite plutocrat, try to play the role of down home good ol' boy fighting for the little man against "arrogant elites" like Kerry, who dare give people practical advice about advancing themselves by doing well in school, something people with fast track guaranteed admissions to Yale and Harvard don't need.

Everything with Bush and Kerry is like the twilight zone. Somehow the purple heart Vietnam vet who wants people to advance by trying hard in school is portrayed as a pussy who wants to denigrate the little guy, while a draft dodging crony king who considers the little guy last is portrayed as the hard-ass war hero fighting for the common man.

I don't care anymore. It's all so fucking ridiculous.

Look back at that. The denials, the charges that it was media hype, and that the volume was played with! All B.S. and I know because I saw the Dean Scream LIVE!

By the way, what has been up with Dean these last few months? Hardly a peep! He made some remark defending Kerry today, but it was rather soft. Has somebody duct taped this guys mouth until after the election only to have fumble Kerry fill the Gap?

And where did Pelosi and Reid go? Into a spider cave?

What makes it so sad is that these conservatives feel like they are the ones who are 'patriotic' or 'supportive of the military'.

It almost hurts to see the irony.

Republicans weren't spitting on our soldiers when they came home from Vietnam, nor were they defending Kerry. The Republicans weren't defending CNN for showing a soldier being shot in the head in a terrorist propaganda film and demanding CNN to show more. Republicans weren't calling our soldiers guilty of war crimes before investigations. Bush hasn't said anything negative about our military. Kerry and Clinton have.

Republicans are constantly the party defending our troops. Extreme liberals are the ones burning the flag and protesting our troops. To say Democrats or liberals aren't patriotic is wrong. But to classify one party as being more supportive of the military has a lot of weight behind it to hold it up.

Yep. The Democratic party endorsed spitting on returning Vietnam vets.

Kerry's statements were a critique of the policy in Vietnam, not a slam against the troops themselves. Of course, you conservatives will refute this, as you see critiques of governments as being equal to critisizing troops (see Iraq).

I don't see any prominent Democrats supporting the CNN video, although I wouldn't care, as CNN has every fucking right to show said video due to the 1st amendment.

As for the whole 'Murtha thing', he was bringing the investigation to the public light, and it is debatable as to what intelligence/information he had on the subject beforhand.

I think you are confusing comments 'negative about the military' with critisizing the administration and failed policies. Again, conservatives have difficult times with things like this.

As far as the flag issue is concerned, it is debatable as to whether or not it is unpatriotic to burn the american flag. One side sees it as a slap in the face to veterans, another side sees it as the ultimate expression of free speech. Of course, I bet you disagree with this.

And for the overall response to your post, you and other conservatives really need to make a fucking attempt at trying to realize that it is possible to DEEPLY disagree with this god-damned administration and its military policies without being against the troops.

As for Bush and his stance with the military...I'll let this video speak for itself. Making light of not finding WMDs, and hence those lives given up for the mission, is a million times worse than anything Kerry has ever said.

YouTube - Bush Jokes About Missing WMD in Iraq

If you have the gaul to be critical of Kerry and not Bush after seeing his 'jokes' about WMDs, shame on you.
