However, the trick is determining when it's being done, for there are some issues in which there are no positive consequences. One such issue as an example is abortion, and this is not trying to start a whole new thread on abortion or a moral evaluatio0n, is that if you protect the mother's rights, then a loife ends, if you protect the life, the mother loses her constitutional rights. That's what makes abortion so difficult to solve. But some issues are black and white. The Iraq War is not one of them either. And I stanjd by my statement over John Kerry. Is that I don't really care what his feelings are about the people in the military. It doesn't really matter. He's not running for President. He did try to run, and he lost. He is the people of MA's problem, if they still want him to be their voice, then that's their problem. Because when I hear stories about some of the things our soldiers have done in war, whether ordered or not ordered, some of those things are abhorrent. And it sucks that they were ever in the position to have to make those choices. And I hate it that people, who will never see what soldiers see or have to do what soldiers do, get to dictate their identity, and get to dictate their value to everyone else. No one has to love the military. The military by nature is really a very ugly thing, that does ugly stuff, in the questionable name for a cause that is debatable as to the individual who finds the cause worthy. I can easily not like what soldiers do. I can not like what our military is doing, and sometimes what our military stands for. If the people of MA don't agree with Kerry, they can vote him out. If you don't agree with what he said, then don't vote for him if you are in the position to. But these threads with the constant bickering of which party loves the troops more? Fuck that. Both parties use the military against the people. One side tells us how much they love them and then sends them away for inane reasons. The other side says they love the troops, and the decreases their benefits. The love the military when it's a photo op. They love it when the troops are successful and can make them look good. But, neither party truely loves the troops. They are used, just like the rest of us. We are all pawns in a game for power, and bickering over a half sentence comment is exactly what they want, because it's just another way for us to be blinded and able to ignore reality. That's ok. Who needs reality anyways. | ||||
